This hatchback comes with rebuilt motor(150lbs per cylinder). overdrive transmission. new clutch. brakes. master cylinder. rotors. drums. brake lines. hoses. front shocks. rear tube shocks. leaf springs. gas tank. sender unit. fuel regulator. down draft carburetor. headers. exhaust system. electric choke. radiator. all hoses. distributor. coil. tires. mini lite wheels. ew chrome. new front and rear bumpers. rear license plate holder(60's look). Side marker lamps removed to also give that retro look. Car was painted in its original maroon paint. Has fiberglass front fenders. new hood. rocker panels.
From cold this MG starts right up. and settles into a nice healthy idle as it comes up to temperature. The gearbox shifts smoothly in and out of each gear and the steering is tight and responsive. The overdrive does not work( I haven't addressed this issue) . The brakes are firm and upon braking this GT pulls up nice and straight without pulling in either direction. The headlights. indicators. and brake lights are all working fine. The parking brake feels functional. All the gauges and lights operate properly. and horn are not. Has electric shut off installed in rear interior(picture). Overall the electrical looks very original. Small scratch on hood(by my mechanic). Car was professionally gone over by a professional mg mechanic(Marty's auto repair Pennsauken NJ) tuned car. He advised 2 bushings to be replaced which I have with the car. The right brake does not release when using the emergency brake( easy fix). When downshifting sometimes it grinds into gear. This car could be a perfect car with a little detail. I also have the original engine block to the car if you want it. In good shape.
Overall this is a lovely example of a British classic. If you're looking for a solid. rust free. MGB GT with overdrive then look no farther because you've found it. Bid with confidence eBay with 100% positive feedback. As always I would advise inspecting the car in person if at all possible. Please call for an appointment or with any questions you may have. 215-527-9411. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
