In my opinion she has everything an MGC GT should have. Classic Tartan red paintwork. Tax exempt. Sporty manual 4 speed gearbox with that all important overdrive. Webasto type roof and of course wire wheels.  I bought this car 6 months ago to drive & slowly improve. but a house move has forcing a reluctant sale.
Since I have owned the car I have put new brightwork on & also purchased new seats. some internal trims. door cards & cappings. The car is kept garaged. but driven regularly. It is joy to drive. own and still turns heads! With that said. it's not a concourse car. it has some areas for improvement in my opinion if the new owner is inclined. I have listed everything I can think of below.

I have a folder full of history with this car. with some previous MOTs / Tax discs / receipts and work done to the car previous to my ownership. Over its 44 year history it has had restorations. various panels and sundries keeping it going and with continued care. will be still around for many years to come. I'm sure.

Wheels/Tyres
All 5 wheels are 15” Wire Wheels. 3 painted in silver color & 2 chrome. they are a Knock on type with spinners. these are excellent for getting on and off when greasing etc. The condition of the wheels is generally  good. with only minor paint flakes / scratches. The 4 wires are shod in radial rubber and are in good condition all with plenty of tread and are of original dimensions 165x15 – they give the car a lovely original look.

Engine/Gearbox/Cooling System
The Engine and Gearbox all work as expected without any unusual clunks or knocks. The engine has always maintained excellent oil pressure and temperature. The Overdrive goes in and out exceptionally well every time smoothly as it should in 3rd and 4th gear.  It sounds as it should. a lovely quiet / smooth burble on tick over and a throaty roar when accelerating. The exhaust system is believed to be a Maniflow system. single straight through large diameter system with a single silencer at the rear.

 Exterior / Brightwork / Paint / Body/ Internal
The car is painted in its original Tartan Red – In Summary it needs a touch up here and there and could benefit from a little TLC in places. if you are look for a perfect finish. a re-spray. The boot lid needs replacing. I will give the lucky winner a very good condition boot lid with the car. which will just need spraying. It still turns heads and looks great though! On closer inspection there are signs of paint bubbling and blisters appearing at the top of the front wings near the windscreen. along the seam has some bubbling & other small spots on the car. The Webasto type roof is in good condition with no rips or tears. no leaks and works very well.   Both front wings are very solid and look like they have been replaced at some point prior to my ownership. All the chrome on this car is in excellent condition as only replaced in September 2013. Underneath the car has been wax oiled/sealed. I can see the odd plate in places where repairs have been done. it looks like it has been done to good standard. Inside the engine bay there are some signs of rust. but know thing major & the whole engine bay could do with a tidy up. Internally the carpets need replacing & a general tidy up. like I said. I have some replacement internal panels & door capping to give away with the car.

This is MGC is perfect for you to enjoy now. as it is taxed & MOT until June 2014. But if you are looking for an easy project. this is a good original car. that has not been messed around with.
