1970 Chevy Corvette Stingray 454 Restored Coupe

Up for sale is my BEAUTIFUL 70 454. I had plans to keep this for a very long time but my circumstances have changed and now it must go. It just came back from a $9k paint job so it really hurts to sell- my loss is your gain!

I purchased the car from someone local (who I've kept in touch with and you can speak with!) about a year ago. He purchased it from a childhood friend who was the original owner. The motor is period correct but not numbers matching- the story is: the motor was replaced by the factory on the assembly line due to a defect. While the numbers are not matching. it is the Orginal. I have not dug deeper to verify all this since the guy I bought it from seemed straight forward.

EQUIPMENT
T-top. Power Steering. Power Brakes. 4 Speed Manual. 454 motor. It does NOT have AC. PW. PL- but none of this is missed. simply put. its more things to go wrong!

MOTOR
The previous owner had the motor completely re-built by a local reputable mechanic to the tune of over $7k (all records and reciepts avail) in 2007. He also had a race cam installed and estimates the output to 500hp. This motor is a beast! It fires right up and pulls like a train. The noise is incredible! There are no oil leaks or issues what-so-ever. Pictures of the re-build are available.

TRANSMISSION
The transmission and drivetrain work flawlessly. I recently replaced the clutch (6 months ago). Shifts are smooth with no grinding what so ever! No leaks.

INTERIOR
The prevoius owner spent over $5k (all records and reciepts avail) to completely restore the interior in 2011. No expense was spared for top quality. There are some cracks in the door panel (see pics). A lot of money and time was put into insulating the cabin from the high amount of heat put out by the big block motor. Again. all the work was done by a local corvette specialist.

EXTERIOR
As you can tell. the previous owner spent a lot of money on the guts of this car. He never addressed the exterior (wanted a drivers car). When I purchased it. the car was Malboro Maroon- well. sort of. From about 10-15ft it looked ok. but up close there was considerable wear. Long story short. it needed a re-paint. I recently spend over $9k on a professional repaint. This was done RIGHT. The car was basically taken apart. sanded down and painted. All the chrome was polished and rubber replaced. The new color is gunmetal (Maserati Grigio Alfieri). This is the REAL maserati paint and does not come cheap- a special clear coat is needed.  I know people say this. but you HAVE to see it to appreciate it!

I am sure I am leaving a ton out- but you get the picture. Between the previous owner and I. there has been a ton of money put into this car. It is absolutely gorgeous and drives great. Before the paint- I was driving it daily with no problems! It as been ALWAYS garaged by both me and the previous owner!

THE BAD
Clock doesn't work. The heater core has been bypassed because of a leak. this can easily be fixed if you need (dont need heat in Houston!). Parking brake doesnt work. Small cracks in door sills. Odometer does not work (Mileage Exempt). The previous owner estimates about 3k miles on the re-built motor and I put about 500.  

I have an entire file (about 1. 5 inches thick) full of docs. reciepts. pics that cover most of the life of this car. It has definitely been babied by its owners and I want to make sure it goes to a home that will continue that tradition!
