1969 MG MIDGET
This car was purchased from a work colleague 8 months ago with the intention of getting it back on the road for the summer. Unfortunately other commitments have meant we are now unable to complete. The car has been dry stored for 6 years but is now under a cover as garage is needed for other projects.
The following is my opinion of what work is required to get this car on the road - please contact me for mor information if required or if you wish to view.
For a car that is 44 years old. it's in very good condition with a lot of work completed by previous owner. The 1275cc series A engine is a reconditioned unit with twin SU carbs and K&N air filters. New flexible fuel pipes and battery - starts first time. smokes a bit on the over-run (needs new valve stem seals). The bodywork is in good condition with recent replacement sill fitted. the underside of the car has been well waxoyled and is in good condition
To get an idea of what was needed to get on the road we recently put the car through an MOT - basically needs a bit of welding on rear suspension mounts. a good greasing of joints and a few minor jobs. The indicator switch needs securing as can be seen from photos. silencer leaks a bit. headlight dipswitch wiring looked at and handbrake adjusted.
The interior is in good condition. carpets are recent. hood is in good condition
Tyres have plenty ot tread.
Historic vehicle so road tax exempt.
With a little tlc this car will be back on the road and a good investment as well.
This car will need to be trailered away.
