Compared to the 1927 Chevy. the 1928 National displayed a longer and straighter hood. flowing fender lines. lower profile and smoothly integrated body panels. That longer hood was no styling frivolity; it was necessary to accommodate the six-cylinder engine that was on the horizon.
Under the vee-shaped hood is a 171 CID inline four-cylinder. nicknamed the “Stovebolt Four. ” This was its swan song year and for its final run. it received higher compression. larger valves. aluminum pistons and a revised carburetor. It is linked to a three-speed manual transmission.

The updated look was one of the first projects from GM's Art & Colour studio.
This car is ideal for taking the grandchildren out for ice cream. a picnic in the park or just over the river and through the woods!
