1939 was an interesting year for American car manufacturers. and Buick was no exception. Happily. the United States was growing out of the effects of the great depression. but unhappily. war loomed on the horizon. Even so. Buick managed to introduce its first push-button radio as well as turn signal indicators.

One of the unique features of the Phaeton is the removable “B” pillar. With the top down and the “B” pillar removed. it became a completely open-air car. With the top up and the “B” pillar installed. it took on the characteristics of a fully closed car.
This very rare 1939 Buick 4 –Door Convertible Phaeton (Model 41-C) is offered for your consideration.
The car is an older restoration that still presents well and runs perfectly. The paint exhibits cracking to some degree on most panels. but it is not visible unless you are standing next to the car. The car may certainly driven and enjoyed as it is. or it could be re-finished if one desired to show the car competitively. Mechanically and structurally the car is in excellent condition. It has no needs other than a radio that does not function.

The car is available for inspection by calling 516-524-4102.   Thank you.

Comments and questions to the seller:

from SILEGHEM Koen, dated 10 september 2018
Hello I am Koen SILEGHEM, Belgian, but living in Normandy France at the moment I have already 2 classic cars but It ’s for my 50 the anniversary that I like to offer myself an American classic. My choices go to A 1939 Buick, A 1949 Lincoln Cosmopolitan or a 1956 Chrysler imperial. I did look trough the images and like to ask some questions if possible. Most important to see if there are some problems to solve on mechanics, Chassis, motor brakes? The goal is to maintain the car to do sometimes nice distances without big problems.
Is it so possible to have some extra pictures please.
Many thanks for your help Have a nice afternoon.
Koen
