1961 Plymouth Fury Convertible

1961 Plymouth Fury Convertible.   Three owners.   First two were in the same family.   Current owner has had this car for over 12 years.   Other than new upholstery and paint done by previous owner. the car is pretty well original.   Car runs and drives beautifully.

It has recently had the carb rebuilt. the lifters have been adjusted with new valve cover gaskets. brakes have all been done and all belts and hoses have been checked or replaced as necessary.   While the car sounds fine. a mechanic told the owner that the muffler is due for replacement.

The interior is in excellent condition but seat material is not to exact original specs.   The radio and clock are not currently working but everything else works as it should.   All the lights. signals. the horn. wipers and heater/defroster work fine.   The power top mechanism also works as it should.

The convertible top is in good condition but the back window has been removed because it was cracked.   It has not been replaced but they are readily available.   As you can see in the photos. the original chrome and stainless trim pieces are in very good condition.   The bumpers show the most signs of age.   The paint is good overall but does have some small marks and scratches that don't show in the pictures.   Wide white-wall tires were put on after some of the photos were taken so some photos might still show the previous narrow white-wall tires.   There is no evidence of rust or even blisters anywhere in the paint.

The car has been used sparingly for the last few years.   The current owner. a mopar collector. is becoming unable to use his cars as much as he once did and is now reducing his collection.

Mopar people will appreciate the rarity of this model.   For more pictures go to:

I highly recommend that you come see the car before bidding and/or you ask for enough information that you are comfortable with buying the car before you place your bid.   However. if you can't come to see the car before the end of the listing and are nervous about buying a car you haven't seen. the owner offers you this guarantee.   A non-refundable deposit of $200 is required within 24 hours of the end of the auction.   The balance is due within 7 days.   If within those 7 days. you personally come to see the car and can demonstrate that the car is not as represented. you can simply walk away from the deal.

For potential US buyers. taking cars back to the States is simple. as long as the car is 25 years old or older.   To quote from the regulation. “A motor vehicle that is at least 25 years old can be lawfully imported into the U. S. without regard to whether it complies with all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards”.   You can literally just drive it home. There is one form to fill out at the border. that's it.   For the Rules and a copy of the form. go to: http://www. nhtsa. dot. gov/cars/rules/import/FAQ%20Site/pages/page2. html#Anchor-28852  Look at Paragraph 8

If you don't have a passport and can't come to pick it up. arrangements can be made to deliver it to you on the US side!

·        He will likely sell another car from his collection when this one is gone but he's not sure which one. yet.   The white one isn't for sale.
