1960 MG-A. fitted with MG-B engine. gearbox & o/drive. The engine has very good oil pressure. no knocks from the engine. gearbox. overdrive or back axle. It starts first turn of the key and cruises very well. Recently completed a trip to Southern France and back without problems.
The car has also been fitted with MG-B disc brakes at the front plus the disc water excluders have been renewed with new Stainless steel items. The all steel bodywork (only front under tray is fibreglass) is in very good condition with no visible corrosion. Chassis. running gear. chrome work are all very good condition. new front bumper recently fitted.
Front and rear suspension was refurbished last year. The rear springs where changed to MG Owners club's "parabolic Springs" and the original Lever arm dampers where replaced with Telescopic dampers. all improve the ride comfort and reliability. New Polyurethane 'SuperFlex' suspension bushes where fitted throughout the front and rear suspension i. e. nothing's going to wear out for some considerable time. Still got the original rear springs and dampers taken off the car in store if required.
The Distributor is a newer D45 version and the 'Ignition points & Condenser' have been replaced with the AccuSpark type Electronic Ignition Conversion kit. No more having to adjust or replace points. starting and running is very reliable.
Dynamo has now been replaced by an Alternator. The car is "negative earth" as per most if not all modern cars. A hidden “Battery Isolation Switch is also installed.
The interior is in very good condition. no rips to carpets or seats. The seats are original so the leather shows its age but not unpleasantly so.
The Hood and Tourneau are in very good condition. The front windscreen seals have been improved and the side screen seals renewed and modified so there is no rain ingress. Tested in sever conditions.
All instruments work as do all lights. indicators etc. The car has a recent MOT. through to end April 2014.
