Whoever says you can't own a rare Mopar without a framed broadcast sheet and a call to Galen Govier obviously hasn't been to our 78. 00 square foot showroom. That's because. as dedicated gearheads who sweat 30 weight motor oil. we often look past the market's obvious selling points in an attempt to find you some of the coolest and most storied muscle cars on the planet. Take. for example. this wicked 1969 Dodge Coronet A12 Super Bee. Although it hasn't had a professional restoration. it is an exceptionally well done piece that'll certainly be a big hit wherever you take it. Although it doesn't have coveted documentation or a stack of plastic trophies. it does have a correct 440 cubic inch V8 and a tough 4-speed drivetrain that'll eat a concours showpiece for lunch and attack a modern sports car for dinner. And although it hasn't been inspected by many white glove judges. you can rest assured that it's still impressive enough to look right at home sitting next to cars that cost 40% more than its Certified price tag. In short. if you're looking for some old school Detroit metal that wraps some of the nastiest muscle your money can buy in one of the best looking packages to ever prowl American streets. this badass Mopar is your kinda style!

According to the story included with this rare Dodge's sale it began life. like so many A12s. as a dedicated drag racer. The car would literally roll out of the shop on Friday. make 10 second passes up and down the strip on Saturday. and roll back into the shop on Sunday. Fast forward several owners and many years later when. in the summer of 1985. a dedicated Mopar fan picked it up for a grand total of $1500. As it sat. the car displayed what was thought to be 23. 00 original miles. was still decked in its original blue and white race armor. and was a mess of broken body panels and barely running mechanical pieces. Thankfully the skilled owner set into a multi-year restoration that would begin with stripping the car's body down to its original Bright Green Metallic finish. transition to salvaging and rebuilding its many original parts. and end with a fresh combination of correct green basecoat. black Super Bee markings and mirror-like clearcoat. Today. this storied piece of Chrysler history is one spectacular hot rod which draws a crowd. elicits stares and inspires compliments from the top of its driveway all the way to the bottom of Main Street!

The A12 package was Chrysler's very successful bid at creating a street legal platform for drag racers. Many of those drag racers preferred A12 'post cars' because of their perceived extra rigidity and lighter weight. That meant most of these Mopar track warriors were beat on weekend after weekend and then retired to the unglamorous existence of field decoration and barn furniture. Naturally. finding a top-notch A12 is a pretty rare occurrence these days; and seeing a highly detailed A12 'post car' like this killer Coronet is so rare that only a handful are believed to exist. At the front of the car. a restored original grille hangs a small Super Bee emblem and four halogen headlights above a good looking chrome bumper and small. round parking lights. Behind that grille. an original fiberglass hood centers a forward-facing scoop. which wears bright "SIX PACK" scripts. in the middle of four stainless pins and a smooth coat of flat black paint. Above that hood. like-new glass rides between satin silver wipers. pristine stainless trim. new chrome drip rails and a fratzog-branded vinyl top. At the base of that glass. slab-sided body panels do a great job of conveying Chrysler's classic broad-shouldered design language and hang traditional chrome door handles and a correct chrome mirror between bright wheel mouldings and retrofitted side scoops. And at the back of those panels. factory fresh tail lights and a centered "DODGE" script hang between a pristine Super Bee emblem. a second body-width bumper and spotless stainless exhaust tips.

Pull this Dodge's famous stainless hood pins and you'll find a correct 440 cubic inch V8 which looks ALMOST as good as it runs. Professionally rebuilt. fully detailed and ready for the strip. this accurately spec'd monster block will take its driver from 'confident' to 'scared stiff' in mere seconds! At the top of the 390 horsepower mill. a trio of correct Holley 2-barrel carburetors is housed within a fully-functional induction system that inhales today just as well as it did 43 years ago. At the base of those carburetors. a correct Edelbrock aluminum intake rides between correct heads and traditional stamped steel valve covers. At the front of those valve covers. a reliable points distributor sends spark through reproduction Chrysler Electronic Suppression wires. And at the sides of that distributor. restored original exhaust manifolds funnel spent gases into a great sounding true dual exhaust system. Aesthetically. the car's Bright Green Metallic engine bay is exceptionally impressive from its correctly placed decals and old school Chrysler washer fluid tank all the way to its correct squeeze clamps and bright orange engine paint. And a great combination of new and reproduction pieces ensure the car's operation is both reliable and fun with items like a correct radiator. a fresh Mopar green cap battery and a collection of fresh belts and hoses making sure every mile is traveled safely.

The chassis specs leave little question as to what this B-body was engineered to do best. Take a step under our lift and you'll find a tough ol' drag strip skeleton that's been over-restored to match both the car's bright engine bay and shiny exterior panels. Behind that thumpin' Chrysler RB block. a stout A833 4-speed twists an original Dana 60 posi-traction rear end around big. 11 second gears. Below that proven drivetrain. a heavy duty front torsion bar and rear leaf suspension has been completely rebuilt to include a correct A12 K-member. correct 'uneven' leaf springs and correct 11 inch brakes. Above that proven drivetrain. over-restored floors have been layered in brilliant green urethane and dressed with everything from a fresh stainless fuel tank to correct undercoating and fresh stainless brake and fuel lines. Exhaust is handled by free-flowing 2. 5 inch pipes which jettison cooked dinosaurs via an H-style crossover. traditional turbo mufflers and spotless stainless tips. Power flows to the pavement through a fresh set of 15 inch steel wheels which spin authentic looking F70-15 Firestone Wide Oval Super Sports around chrome lug nuts and gloss black paint. And. while this Coronet's fully sorted undercarriage IS nice enough to show. it's not something you're going to be afraid to get a little dusty if you actually want to enjoy your classic.

Open this Coronet's rock solid doors and sit down inside a cockpit where legendary Mopar power melds seamlessly with a no frills. no-nonsense driving environment. It's nicknamed the 'taxi cab interior'. and it's been restored just as the factory intended: to provide the perfect combination of striper car weight and big car durability. At the center of the floors. rebuilt bench seats wrap firm padding and new frames in correct reproduction covers. At the sides of those seats. fratzog-branded door panels hang new armrests under bright stainless trim and familiar black window frames. At the bottom of those seats. like-new carpet anchors "Super Bee" stitched floor mats at the sides of a correct Hurst goose neck shifter. And at the top of those seats. a tight black headliner is stretched around fresh roof bows and a fully functional dome light. The car's expertly restored dash hangs a full set of rebuilt Rallye gauges beside a correct Solid State AM radio that's complete with Chrysler's super cool thumb-wheel knobs. In front of the driver. a correct three-spoke steering wheel spins a silver trimmed horn button around a rebuilt steering column. And behind the cockpit. the car's fully restored trunk is authentic all the way down to its full-size spare tire and correct decklid decal.

This awesome Dodge rolls straight off our showroom floor with a few copies of its original titles. a complete back story from one of its previous owners and a historical specs page.

This '69 A12 Coronet has it all: looks to kill. power that never stops and a storied history that's super cool in and of itself. If you're in the market for some solid Mopar muscle that'll be a constant source of pride and provide years of fun. this top notch Dodge is the car for you!
