Model History

The MGC was firmly based on the MGB and was intended as a replacement for the Austin-Healey 3000 which by the time the MGC was announced in 1967 it had had its day. It was powered by an in-line. six-cylinder. pushrod. OHV engine of 2912cc capacity that was capable of producing 150bhp. The bodyshell was essentially a basic MGB unit with a modified bonnet hump.

Interior & Equipment

The black leather is in excellent order piped in red and with very good black carpets. The headling is excellent as are the door cards etc. All switches and gauges work correctly as they should and are in perfect order. The rear opening quarter windows work correctly and the glass is excellent all round.

Exterior

The Tartan Red paintwork is excellent all round. the brightwork is very good. the underside of the car has been wax oiled to a very good standard. Panel fit is superb throughout. The original roof has never had a retro fit sunroof installed which so many of them did. All external trim is to a very high standard.

Wheels. Tyres & Brakes

The original MGC 15" painted wires with chrome spinners are very good all round and she sits on all matching Firestone tyres.

Engine & Transmission

The engine and engine bay is very clean throughout. She starts first time everytime and is a pleasure to drive. She pulls strongly in each gear having had a new gearbox recently and a complete overhaul of the rear axle. You cannot help but have a smile on your face with the sound she makes. She has just undergone a complete engine service and flown through an MOT with no advisories after being parked up for a few years.

Summary

This very rare MGC GT is presented in lovely Tartan Red with contrasting black leather piped in red a truly classic combination of a British sports car.

With only having 6 former keepers of which the last owner of 15 years this C has been loved and cherished over its 42 years of age.
There is not a great deal of documented history with the car. there are some past MOT's dating back to 1997 when she had covered 76783 miles.

This C is in excellent order all round and ready to be enjoyed for years to come with nothing needing to be done other than enjoy at local shows or going out on those sunny afternoons.
