1970 Oldsmobile Toronado GT 455 V8 400 hp Factory High-Performance Muscle Car.

This is the ultimate performance Toronado. produced in the last year before emission-controls strangled the muscle car market. At the time this car had the highest horsepower per pound of any front-wheel-drive car. a record not beaten for 16 years! 0-60mph times were 7. 5 seconds & top speed was 135 mph. And it's rare. 1970 was the only year for the GT & only 1 in 5 Toronado's built in that year were GT models.

Defined as a luxury-muscle car. it has power windows. electric seats. cruise control. tilt steering. Air Conditioning. 8-track tape player separate from the Radio. The jack is in it's original cardboard wrapping & the spare tyre has never been on the road.

It has a deep throaty roar & feels strong with a lumpy idle.

I purchased the car in Nevada 15 years ago & privately imported it. It has been in storage ever since & has never been registered in Australia. Prior to me it had been in one family since 1977 who maintained it carefully.

LIGHT RESTORATION REQUIRED. The car is not rusty (beyond surface rust & one spot on the RR wheel arch) but the paintwork is tired & there has been a repair to the left rear quarter which needs better finishing. The vinyl roof requires replacement. The interior is excellent & very original & has only the driver's seat seam to repair. And the steering wheel rim has deteriorated. The carpets are as new since they have been covered from day one by a factory rubber mat.

The windscreen is cracked but I have a replacement screen. included in the price. which is still crated from when I imported it 15 years ago. It is missing one hubcap. Note that the speedo reading is in MILES & that it will need a new battery.

This is a great opportunity to acquire a genuine muscle car from the golden era of American horsepower. It is already in Australia. it is untampered with. nicely original & very inexpensive in comparison with Aussie muscle or Mustangs & Camaro's of the the same era. And it came from the factory with 7. 4 litres & 400hp!

Please note where it is – Crookwell NSW which is 45 klms west of Goulburn. which in turn is 2 ½ hours south of Sydney. A copy of the FORS import permit will be provided. As it has not registered you will need either a trailer or transporter to collect. Please consider this before bidding.
