BMW E30 318i Convertible

EXTERIOR
This 318 cabriolet is finished in beautiful Glacier blue paintwork. which looks great in our studio with a striking metallic flake. There are very few stone chips to be found anywhere on the body. including the commonly affected areas such as the front bumper. bonnet and wing mirrors. This example has been de-chromed as a factory option and has been garaged its whole life. both black plastic bumpers remain in excellent condition with no fading or scuffs. as does the rest of the black trim and window rubbers all-round the car. The hood is in excellent condition with no damage to be found to the material and operating electrically exactly as it should.

INTERIOR
Stitched in grey checked cloth (a lovely shade that compliments the dark blue hood) the sports seats feel comfortable and supportive while the cloth remains in as new condition with no tears or any wear to the bolster. Often the material appears slightly faded from sun exposure but due to careful storage in the owners garage this example looks as fresh as the day it was new. All of the plastic surfaces across the dashboard and down to the centre console are free from marks and retain a beautifully fresh texture. The switchgear along with the original Blaupunkt cassette player still feel solid to operate and all work exactly as they should. The carpet is showing no wear throughout the car being protected in the foot-wells by the correct BMW over-mats. The boot area remains free from any moisture. housing a complete BMW tool kit. unused spare alloy wheel. unopened first-aid kit and fire extinguisher.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The Inline 4 engine has only covered a mere 21k miles in the past 22 years and remains in excellent mechanical condition. idling up to temperature quickly and providing smooth. economical performance. The car has had regular use and servicing so has never been left unused for prolonged periods. The 5-speed manual gearbox puts the driver firmly in control of the car. feeling tight and precise changing through the gears. With the roof down on a fine day the 318 cabriolet is an absolute joy to drive.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
The 15" BMW X-spoke alloy wheels are in pristine order with no kerb marks or scuffs to be found and are shod in a new set of matching tyres. The performance of the 318 on the road feels tight and responsive. the brakes feel strong pulling the car to a standstill smoothly in a straight line.

HISTORY FILE
This 318i has the perfect history. all of the 9 services have been done by the supplying BMW dealer. everyone is stamped in the original service book and a copy of the invoice has been kept in the history file detailing the work that was done. In addition every MOT certificate has also been kept further verifying the astonishingly low mileage. Often cars with such low mileage have spent time in storage so its great to see that the car has had regular light use.

Other documents in the file include the original bill of sale showing the purchase price at £20. 65. the Blaupunkt radio manual and all the other owners manuals. The spare key and dealer key ring are unused and still in their plastic bag.

The BMW had the same lady owner for the first 19 years with a change from company to personal name in 1996. For the last 2 years it has been with a BMW collector.
