MGB GT Mkii 1968 in Hunter, NSW for sale
OFFERING FOR SALE MY . MGB GT 1968 MKII. nbsp; ABINGDON BUILT CAR
This car has no rust. floors. sills appear to be original. previous owner restored and repainted the body to a high standard. nbsp;I have restored most of the suspension and brakes a list of which appears below
All brakes replaced - discs. new shoes and drums turned. nbsp;front brake hoses. nbsp;rear axle oil seals. new fuel tank and fuel pump. diff oil changed. rear shockers replaced with tubular type. front shockers serviced and oil renewed. front end inner and outer pins and bushes using V8 inner bushes. new tie rod ends and steering rack boots. these were replaced not because of wear but once I had them off to do the front end work I might as well replace them. most of the rubber parts replaced were due to age not wear. it is a 45 year old car. stainless steel inner door stops fitted. car has good tyres that look as if they have had very little road use. wire wheels and hubs in excellent condition. new front wheel bearings among a lot of other improvement and adjustments including new quarter window rubbers etc. distance travelled are in miles not kilometres.
The car has not been registered since 2010. nbsp;old rego papers available. I have owned this car since March this year . these MGB GT's are a good investment they don't seem to drop in value and may increase in the future as there is not that many around for sale the roadsters are far more common.
The motor gearbox and diff all run well and do not seem to leak oil. the dashboard and carpets appear to be original along with the seats. the general trim in the car is in great condition. this an Abingdon built car one of the best around. it is a very sound car. I believe that it has the original chassis / engine number combination although I have not chased up the Heritage Abingdon papers to confirm. I originally intended to register it and use it myself but as I have another GT under extensive nut and bolt restoration I cannot afford - time and energy wise to do two of them and therefore offer to sell this car with some regret. I am retired and in my 67th year and two to restore is one too many. but that's life so be it. nbsp;I am not in a rush to sell therefore I will not sell it for less than the price indicated which. IS. the bottom line . so please. thank you. do not ring with low ball offers these GT's sell for up to $17000 + but as this car needs a small amount of work will regretfully let it go for the listed amount.
Minor things needing attention are a wheel alignment. electrical issue. this car was one of the last models with the regulator on the side of the engine bay the previous owner had installed a new alternator with the regulator on the back of it without altering the wiring to suit so this alternator does not charge the battery - a minor fix required. a few paint blemishes here and there even though it was repainted only a few years ago easily rectified but at the moment I don't have the equipment to do it. the car has not been road tested with all the suspension and brake reconditioning it needs to be gone over to ensure all ok but I don't expect any problems there the work has been done to a very high standard using new parts.
This car is offered for sale to GENUINE BUYERS / INVESTORS ONLY . please do not bid if you are not serious in going through with the sale you will be wasting your time and mine not to mention genuine bidders who would be inconvenienced or disappointed. the car is available for inspection on arrangement at Kincumber out from Gosford NSW. ring 0438462936. TEXTS WILL NOT BE ANSWERED. ring and talk if you want to know anything. it's good manners.
no paypal. nbsp;no swaps. deals etc I already have too many cars. nbsp;cash or bank deposit is the most acceptable transaction. nbsp;pick up at buyers expense but will assist wherever possible.
