1968 Fiat 500F

Model History

The Fiat 500 is a car produced by the Fiat company of Italy between 1957 and 1975 Launched as the New 500 in July 1957. t was a cheap and practical town car. Measuring only 2. 97 metres (9 feet 9 inches) long. and originally powered by an appropriately sized 479 cc two-cylinder. air-cooled engine. the 500 redefined the term "small car" and is considered one of the first city cars.

Interior & Equipment

The original interior is excellent having never been restored. all switches door cards. steering wheel etc. are perfect. Original factory Fiat mats have been fitted from new and look great.

Exterior

Painted in its original colour some time ago as the original paint had faded over the years. The body did not need restoring prior to painting. so no panels. no filler. no welding. nothing what so ever it was purely a refresh to ageing original paint. There is no rust. rot or blistering anywhere. The brightwork is all original including the decals. bumpers etc. The sun roof operates perfectly. All original glass is blemish free and the quater lights operate as they should.

Wheels. Tyres & Brakes

Original Fiat steel wheels with original chrome hub caps all perfect and sitting on all matching tyres.

Engine & Transmission

The engine has undergone a top end refresh and full service. The engine and engine bay is lovely and clean as you would expect from such a low milage example. She starts immediately and sounds very sweet. Driving is a pleasure she pulls strong and the gearbox and clutch operate with ease.

Summary

This iconic 1968 model Fiat 500F oozes character and the word Original is used throughout our descriptions as it truly is a genuine example and has been much loved.

Recently imported from the streets of Milan having only had 1 owner since first registered 14. 10. 1970 in Pistoia Italy.

Only genuine parts have been used in its pampered life.

Round speedo models with such low miles and so original are becoming hard to find and as such prices are rapidly going up.

Recent work includes the fitting of new shock absorbers and new brakes. It has the original Jack and Fiat mat set and comes with original Fiat handbooks and service schedule etc in the history file.

She will come with a new mot and registered in the UK buyers name as the first owner.
