1988 Jaguar XJ-S 3.6 - manual 5 speed - great condition, in British Racing Green for sale
Current customer rating: (264 votes ) based onIt is the rare 3. 6 with the 5 speed Getrag manual gearbox. in stunning British Racing Green with contrasting cream leather/tweed recaro seats.
I have owned this car for over 4 years and due to a upcoming house purchase. I have come to the unfortunate conclusion I can no longer keep it.
It has served me greatly and has never caused me any issues during my ownership.
It has just over 94. 00 miles and has been serviced regularly by myself.
It comes with 10 months MOT.
Work I have carried out includes:
- Brand new headlights fitted. br>- Washer-wiper fluid pumps and hoses. br>- Uprated air filter. br>- Service including new plugs. oil. oil filter. fuel filter. br>- Uprated speakers x 4
- Sony CD player / MP3 head unit
- Waxoiled chasis and under-carriage. br>- Upgraded refurbished 16" 5-star alloys. br>- Replaced the gearbox and rear differential oil. br>- Brand new retractable electric aerial.
The interior is in great condition. however the driver's seat does have the usual worn bolster. The headlining is also like new and there are no damp patches or rust under the carpets.
The engine and gearbox run impeccably and the gearbox pulls strongly through all the gears. The engine maintains correct temperatures and oil pressures at all times. It has never once overheated or ran on low pressure.
The paintwork is in very good condition but does have the usual minor stone-chips and scratches.
With regards to rust. there is no rust on the underside of it. and has never been welded either. All jacking points are intact too. Two wheel arches have minor blistering and a there is a crack near to the nearside rear quarter (near to the exhaust) I am confident a body-shop would be able to rectify it all for a small sum. There is no rust on the scuttle. doors. boot/bonnet area and all these areas are solid.
The electrics are known to be highly unreliable on the XJ-S's. My car has no major issues at all. All the dash lights illuminate and disappear as they should. The driver's side electric window works fine but can be temperamental at times.
To sum the car up. it is in great condition. highly presentable. reliable and garners attention wherever it is taken.
I am open to genuine offers. so please feel free to contact me with said offer.
*** Please note a private number plate is currently on the car. this will be removed prior to sale and the car will return to an age-related 'E' plate ***
