The  Exterior Paint is poor. It appears the car was repainted long ago so there are no surprises with this car. The Interior is fair for a car of this age given its exposure to the hot dry climate. requiring some restoration due to age. use. nbsp;wear and tear. The front seat covers are split and need repair. The Fuel tank has been replaced with a fuel cell and operates well. There is some damage to the drivers side valance panel under the front headlight but it is easily repairable. The body is solid and straight - typical of  an original California Car with some minor localised rust only. The floors and undercarriage of this vehicle are super solid.  There is some minor rust on the left hand side just ahead of the rear wheel as well as some bubbling on the lower rear quarters on both sides which is typical for this model. nbsp;but it is relatively minor and easily repairable.  Any rust to be  found on this car is of a relatively minor nature. as this is a California car and does not have the typical rust usually found in cars of this vintage. The car is mechanically strong. The engine runs nice and the automatic shifts smooth and effortlessly.  This is an easy restoration project. Overall this a a solid. straight original California Dodge Lancer GT that is mechanically strong. runs and drives well.

You could drive this car exactly as it is or if you prefer to make it look like new it will require for the most part a cosmetic restoration i. e some minor body repair. paint and interior work etc.  to restore to its former glory or you could choose

1962 Dodge Lancer ( source: Oldride)  The Lancer 170 was the base trim level while the Lancer 770 was a step above - included in that line-up was a sporty GT two-door hardtop that could be equipped with the optional 225-cid Slant Six engine.

Continuing on from previous years is the Torsion-Aire Suspension with torsion bars up front and asymmetrical leaf springs in back offer less lean and sway than with coil springs.    A welded unitized body provided maximum strength and rigidity. Wrapping up the exterior was a seven stage rustproofing process of dips and sprays after which two coats of epoxy primer and two baked-on coats of Lustre-Bond Hi Baked Enamel sealed the outside to offer better protection.
