GEORGOUS example of a refurbished classic FJ40 Landcruiser!!

1975 model Toyota FJ40 Landcruiser

Features: Truck is a clean TEXAS vehicle with original 102K miles on Odometer
Body was completely stripped to the tub leaving dash and gauges alone. All body and interior parts that could be removed from vehicle and repainted separately. This was repainted by a proffessional body man and it was done RIGHT.

Repainted within the last year or so.  Seats re-upholstered years ago when the first restore was done. All seat frames dismantled and repainted during the repaint last year.
Re-assembled all after the repaint using new gaskets. door seals. emblems. marker lights. running and turn lights. etc. all stainless steel hardware fasteners used to put together.
1984 chevy 305 v8 conversion with under 5K miles on motor. (proffessional installation using Downey off road adapter kit.
Centerforce clutch installed at time of re-power
Tranny and transfer case rebuilt at time of restore
All new brakes. cylinders. shoes. lines and hoses -- complete rebuilt brake system.
Throttle body fuel injection
P/S conversion
A/C
Rides on OEM stock springs with 31x11. 50 mud tires on steel rims. About 90-95% thread.
I have a set of (5) restored stock OEM rims plus the hub caps to go with deal.

Story line: the truck was restored (over 8 years ago) by a good mechanic / body man friend of mine for his dad. And then it just sat. His dad never drove it! Only he did. occasionally. to go get parts. drive around. etc. he maybe put another 500 miles on it in all that time. Then it sat. Outside. weather took its toll on the paint. Brakes froze.
I came along and bought it and had him resurrect it. I had him do the body work (NO RUST on main body. just repaint inside and out with the stock color)
floors are solid. all body panels clean and SWEET. He rebuilt all the brake system with new parts and got it ready to ride again.

Only thing left for it now is the top to be refurbished and I wasnt in a hurry for him to get that completed as I only use it for fun rides around town in nice weather.  My mechanic/body man friend has the top and back doors. PERFECT just need to be repainted like the truck was. I have the front doors completed now. and on the truck. I have new seals . sweeps and gaskets on the doors too.

Truck runs good. tracks nice. and has ample power for all you want. And is a BEAUTY.
one of the cleanest you will find out there. I have seen JUNK going for 8K- 10K

Now. you heard all the good. here is the bad.

Recently. I have been smelling gas. I now figured it out its the gas tank. must have developed a small leak. no puddling. just I can smell it. I priced them at $230 from Cool cruisers. or get a a poly. or antoehr used. Gotta do that. Other than that. I know the a/c system needs charging and one of the lines replaced. all the A/C unit is good otherwise. I never use it. Top is off.

Can it use anything to be perfect? Oh yea. I was thinking of refurbishing the aluminum trim interior. like the ash tray and gauge cluster. which is slightly pitted. or just paint these items flat black. Door interior trim panels are OK. but I would like new someday. Steering wheel is sort ratty. maybe replace or simply put on a leather cover? simple stuff left to make this a show winner!

I bought this as a "keeper" with plans to eventually bring to my mountain side cabin in OK.
and work the details as I go along.

I have seen similar examples sell for 17K-19K  iIBELEIVE MINE IS FAIRLY PRICED FOR WHAT YOU WILL GET FOR THE MONEY. Look around. I would encourage you to view a LOT of them and see what's out there. Toyota's needing body work are all too common. mine is pristine. If it needs engine work. beware! Toyota engine parts are NOT cheap.

I am 50 years old. not some young kid who bashes his equipment. this is a road queen if you will! My days of heavy four wheeling are over. I built this for a nice looking. classic rig to admire and be admired! And it is all that.
