I would like to start by stating that I am not the owner of this MG. I am helping this gentleman sell his car. as he has no familiarity with advertising on E-Bay or any of the online web based sites. I will however be your contact for questions and I will do my best to objectively describe this car so you know what you will be bidding on.

The owner of this fine MG purchased it in 2013 at the Houston Mecum auction. At that time the car had just completed an extensive 4 year Renovation at Corvettes and Classics in Houston Texas. There is a binder of parts invoices from Moss Motors as well as a pictorial of the work they performed to get the car to its current level. This will be included in the sale

After winning the car at Auction. the owner shipped it home to Colorado and took it to a personal mechanic in the area and had him go through the car top to bottom to correct any items that were not handled during the restoration. They left no stone unturned. and the owner spent over $2700 to have any and all items corrected so that he could enjoy the car. They did some brake work and other items and even aligned a door so that the gaps would be clean. This receipt will also be included in the sale.

Since purchasing the vehicle over 3 years ago. the owner has driven it less than 1000 miles. It sits in the back of the garage and doesn't get driven. so he has decided it's best to let someone take it out and enjoy it. The good news is that the car is in better condition than the day it came off the auction block because it hasn't been used much and was serviced after the auction. In Colorado. our cars tend to get chips in the front end from small rocks and pebbles on our roads. but this vehicle doesn't have that rash. It's very clean. The down side is that in all the time it has sat. it seems that the float on one of the carbs is sticking. The car last ran in the spring of 2015 and it ran very well with no issues. but when he turned it off. some gas leaked out of one of the overflows and the owner hasn't started it since. I am guessing it is a float.

In looking at the car. the restoration seems to have been done very well. The engine compartment is immaculate. the undercarriage has been detailed. the new red base coat/clear coat was done well. the bumpers where re-chromed. there are many new parts such as the Grill and Windshield. ( I Love the Triple wipers). new convertible top. new carpet and dash redone in leather. the seats also look completely done. new exhaust system. new radial tires. restored original wire wheels. new trunk rubber. correct badges and so much more. Far too much for me to list. It appears to me that everything has been touched on this car by being restored or replaced. The correct 1275 4 cylinder engine was gone through and the 4 speed transmission performs well. The gauges and the steering wheel are very nice. You can tell a lot of care and hours went into this car. The car was not cleaned when these pictures were taken. There is a fair amount of dust on the car and it still shines nicely.

I did find a few small things esthetically on the car. The passenger side rear tail light lens seems to have a small split in the seam. Also. there is a fine small scratch or crack in the paint near the front corner of each side of the hood. It is not something that stands out when you look at it. but I took pictures of these items for your review.  You can also go to the following link to see pictures from the 2013 Auction.

I can say with certainty that if you attempted to purchase a 1970 MG MKIII. and have it restored to this level. you could never do it for anywhere close to what the reserve price is set for this vehicle. The owner has decided to let it go and he is doing so at a price well below what he has into the car. His loss is your gain and someone will get a nice vehicle at the right price that they can enjoy with the top up or down. This MG really needs to be driven. When I saw it sitting in the back of his tandem garage it was covered in dust and screaming to be taken out. The first 4 pictures of the car were taken this past weekend.

The data tag is still in place with it's original rivets. The body tag was media blasted and put back on with screws. The Body tag is GUN 013933P and the engine number looks like 12C /D/ H 23140. There does appear to be some symbols in there as well. I can send pictures if anyone else is interested. I found some more lines toward the very front center of the hood. As I look at them in detail it's hard to tell if they are just in the clear coat. That's what it appears to be. but it's dark in the back of this garage. I put a flashlight on it and took a picture with the flash so you can see them. Please let me know if you would like a picture sent. The were not visible via photo without the bright flash. They look like something that could be cut and polished in the clear coat. but I am not 100% sure. Thanks

Please contact me with questions or for specific pictures. My name is Justin and my cell is 3 zero 3-two four 6-triple zero 3 or I can be reached via e-mail through the Ebay system. I will answer all of your questions promptly and if I don't have the answer. I will get it from the owner. Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer. but I will assist with meeting a shipping company to coordinate transport. I would recommend shipping since the car has not been started in a long time. Thank you for looking and have a great day.
