This vehicle was shipped to New Zealand when new in 1972 where it remained until I acquired it from a museum in Te Puke. in the Bay of Plenty. in 2003. we used the vehicle as family transport for a year or so as various members of the family visited and it travelled all over North and South Islands during that time. when it was time for the last of us to return home we could not leave the Rover behind so we shipped it back to the UK - importing it in 2004. It was resprayed as the harsh sun had caused the paint to flake. it had a stainless steel exhaust fitted. tyres. ball joints etc and finally it was sent to the Leather Conservation Centre in Northampton to have the leather upholstery conserved. More than £5000 has been spent since it has been back in the UK. As far as I can tell the car has never been welded and is rot-free. It is a genuine and honest vehicle which has been in my collection for ten years. The barn in which it is kept is being redeveloped so my cars have to go! :-(
