Purchased earlier this year as a track day project to take to his years Spa Classic meeting in Belgium.  Choose this early model as it had a recent transplanted Oselli 1950 that was a refreshed early build from I imagine the 1980's when the company was based nearer Oxford. I was told it  has a Stage 2  large valve. gas flowed head. Presently on twin SU's but it came with a Weber 40 DOCE on period Oselli manifold. The radiator was reconditioned and operates with a working Kenlowe fan. The car never runs hot. Oil pressure is 60-75 psi . The oil is clean and the engine does not smoke or get hot.  It has a three into one exhaust manifold married to a stainless steel large bore exhaust into a twin pipe back box which sounds gorgeous. The box is standard and works well. Overdrive is working on 3rd and 4th. The rear diff was serviced with parts from Moss. New fluids in Engine. Gearbox and Axle. Performance is torquey and lively to 6. 00 rpm. I replaced the front suspension with 3/4 ARB. Lowered uprated springs Uprated shock absorbers. new drop links and poly bushes. Aeroquip lines. drilled and grooved discs and new calipers with green stuff  pads to front. The rear was lowered with blocks. new U bolts on poly seats and new drop links. standard springs for a softer rear. New drums and shoes with comp linings. The handling is spot on. very precise and well behaved. It has been set up using laser tracking. The body was clean to start with  so minimal welding repairs. The interior was stripped out and a Safety Devices cage welded in. Period style bucket seats are bolted to floor and LUKE harnesses. A hand extinguisher is fitted to passenger footwell. Period rubber mats in the front. Front and back Sebring valances fitted and the whole car has a fresh coat of paint . The wires were also treated to 3 coats of satin enamel deep red. The rear lamps are all new and even the interior lamp works on the drivers  door. I have added roundels and some period race decals which are all removable. The sides were decromed for the respray but I do have all the chrome work as well as the bumpers and the original seats. badges etc. The tyres all have 3+mil  all around and are wearing evenly.  This car is pretty (not a show car by any stretch of the imagination. ) raunchy and a lot of fun. Above and wants for little and has had over £2000 spent recently ensuring its mechanically uprated to cope with this lovely power unit. With a little more work could go out and play on the track in Class A MG Owners club as its all steel etc (though the 100% functioning and leakproof sunroof would need blanking off for this)And yes the drive to Spa and back was a hoot and she did not miss a beat and saw a few young pretenders off too!!I am asking what seems a high price but including the respray I have expenditure listed over £5000 in the past 3 months. She needs a new home as the next project is already on the drawing board.
