1970 Dodge Charger R/T  #'s matching engine with original drivetrain

I started restoring this Charger in July of 2010 it had been sitting in my grandmothers field since the 1990's very bad shape from sitting . It was in a garage from the late 70's to 1994 I know this because this was my late uncles dream car until the engine was blown! then it was given to my mother she never had the funds to restore until she passed in 2010 it had been her dream to restore since it was her brothers Charger R/T . so I decided I was going to take on this task of restoring it little did I know how expensive it is to restore correctly a Mo par!! I have all the receipts totaling up well more than the charger will sell for ! It still isn't perfect I can tell you that everywhere you go you will be stopped and told what a beautiful car it is and its just amazing! you will have people taking pictures at every light and though I haven't put into any car shows I would not be surprised it doesn't win there just isn't many original Charger r/t out there to begin with.

it began a frame off restoration . here is what has been done. both rear quarter panels have been replaced AMD . . trunk . trunk brace. front valance. rear corners. all the original glass but replaced the windshield. new tires and rims original style . the original engine was rebuilt by a local machine shop over 7k dyno tested. transmission 727 was rebuilt with stall converter . all new wiring harnesses for the complete car. glen ray restored radiator. a/c restored . a/c-heater box restored by sms restorations - a/c switches and gauge cluster was restored by performance car graphics . 3 speed wiper motor was done by Kim passion for mopar . ew seat belts correct restored. complete new front end. ill wood disc brakes on all 4 wheels. new master cylinder. bendix booster. front k frame and other front end parts were powder coated. new 402 oil pan. interior has been restored correctly . paint job and body work paid over 12k . nbsp;new accurate exhaust . new fuel system . new fuel tank. original rear end restored. and many many more new or nos parts to bring this vehicle to the stage that it is in now!! 

correct engine #'s matching. correct drive train . correct style transmission but no vin on the transmission. never found the build sheet. the vehicle does have the vin on the dash. door . & fender tag it has been restored to what the fender tag calls for to be original all but the disc brakes installed for more stopping power and safety I never installed the ragtop it calls for a white top & a longitudinal stripe I did not install I like this look better but can be added to be exact at anytime if you desire .  

The bad:

in the rebuild the went missing both  A pillars around 200. 00 on eBay . bezel for remote driver mirror needs to be installed 25. 00 on eBay  . the front bumper needs re dipped in chrome 500. 00 most places . the rear tail panel needs painted correctly to match original style currently just black labor and reinstall 200. 00 ?. I liked the look of blue with a black bezel dash but R/T 's had wood grain that will cost 780. 00 on eBay. a/c has all the hoses and has been restored and has been installed a/c heater box restored so I was told it just needs filled but never tried I'm  guessing around 300. 00 to have a/c blowing. wiper motor was restored but wiper's need adjusted. front head light motor does not work everything is installed but it will not lift the flip up grille so that will need rebuilt or new 350. 00 eBay passenger door will need aligned better it was straight before restore I think it needs a shim  or two .  the entire cluster was rebuilt by performance car graphics paid over 1200 dollars and after installing everything the oil register doesn't work. fuel gauge doesn't read 100% correct . and the speedometer needs adjusted . and a few very light scratch or dings on the body even after the paint job mechanic shop or passer by leaning over darn them but very minor!!!

I have included everything to the best of my knowledge of driving it . torque is at 548lbs and hp is at 454 off of the dyno it runs like a 43 year old new car!! the above mentioned things that need to still need to be done as you drive it . only major one would be the headlight grille motor so it can be driven at night . it sounds like a lot that still needs to be done but anyone that knows old cars this is a never ending battle so yes a little more work but in the condition it is in now can still win car shows and turn heads

also just wanted to mention in the pictures before restoration my uncle had painted the charger a darker blue but I restored it back to the original color how it came out of the factory ! if you look in the engine bay area and the trunk area you can see the EB5 color and on the fender tag. the interior in as bad of shape as it was had been redone before I restored it back to original with the buddy seat in the center as well
