EQUIPMENT
Power steering. AC. Chrome wire wheels. Tinted glass. Radio. Front bumper guard. Dash clock. Map lights. Adjustable steering column. Manual dial illumination.

EXTERIOR
The fabulous E-Type continues to endure as a design master piece and although the purity of performance has been somewhat diluted for practicality and safety purposes over the years. the style and presence is unmistakable. The deep paintwork has settled over the last couple of years since it was taken back to bare metal. etch primed and repainted in its original colour; photographs of which are provided in the history file. The brightwork is in good condition. with only localised gentle pitting around the light and bumper fixings. whilst the chromed areas such as the door handles. rear screen surround and door surrounds show very well with excellent fit and finish.

INTERIOR
The Oatmeal interior works beautifully in contrast to the deep Regency exterior and was completely retrimmed by T. Walker and Son of Dewsbury upon arrival in the UK. As such. over time. the seats display a delicate patina that still maintain good shape and integrity without any sagging or fraying of the stitching. The door cards and sill carpentry present neatly whilst instrumentation and switch gear is clear and easy to read. The cabin is elegantly finished with the distinguished wood rimmed wheel that still exhibits an unspoilt lacquer.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 4. 2 litre six cylinder engine has been rebuilt and pulls like a train. with strong oil pressure both at cold idle and at speed. A recent alternator. distributor and engine tune ensures that the car is in rude mechanical health. whilst brand new Koni dampers ensure the front end is tight and assured. The sense of occasion on test is palpable. with a smooth partnership between gearbox and clutch the car is a joy on the open road.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
What better way to compliment the recently restored body than with a brand new set of 15 x 6 inch 72 spoke wires. These vintage wheels were provided with all new rubber. now sitting on Blockley radials. to ensure authentic ride and feel. The most recent service saw both front calipers stripped and seals replaced to make sure the car stops as it should.

HISTORY FILE
Chassis J70 – 1R43254BW was distributed by British Leyland of New York to Charles H. Hornburg of Los Angeles in 1970. With the original Passport to Service in hand there are 14 main dealer stamps up until 1974. confirming the first 45k miles. followed by a sheath of chronological service invoices from both Terry York and the British Motor car service from 1976 to 1987. The car was then exported by a Mr Pearson in 1989; we have the original ownership certificate and subsequent sales invoice alongside the exportation documents in the history file.

The car was first registered in the UK in 1991 with a supporting MOT certificate present in the history file. There are an array of service receipts up until 2012 when the owner decided upon converting to RHD with a manual gearbox. A huge amount of paperwork outlines all of the parts necessary for the conversion from SNG Barratt and The Hutson Motor Company over a 2 year period. with the most recent service culminating in an open cheque book exercise with local specialist Winspeed to the tune of £8k. To conclude. Jaguar Heritage certificate number 36795 confirms the originality and spec.

The '64 to '70 cars are regarded by some experts as the best driving car of the range. retaining the engine and dynamics of the late Series 1 cars and adding efficient cooling. braking and cabin comfort. This example has a wonderful history file. with almost every movement in both the US and UK accounted for. while presenting in both an attractive cosmetic and reliable mechanical condition.
