1952 Plymouth Chopped Custom Hot Rod

____________________________________________

I bought this as an abandoned project. and have worked very hard to finish. and make it more dependable.   This said. there is very little I know about the inside of the engine and transmission. other than the following:

350 Chevy/350 Trans - Engine starts super easy and runs very strong.   It has the HEI ignition. and edelbrock 4 barrel and intake.   The transmission shifts strong. with a convincing 2nd gear "scratch. "  Very dependable. and runs on hot days between 180 and 190 degrees.   3 core radiator. with electric fan. There is a drip or three on the ground. after sitting a day. but the top of the engine is dry and sharp looking.

I have rewired about 95% of the car.   This included adding 2 power strips with LED lights. to indicate a blown fuse.   They are very well labeled and easy to work with. One is for when the key is off. and the other is for key forward functions.   It will make adding anything your heart desires. very simple.   All the connections throughout the car have been soldered and shrunk wrapped.   In some cases I used a connection. which is a crimp/shrink wrap style.   You will find very few wires exposed under the hood. and no firewall or fender harnesses.

12 VOLT SYSTEM (No. the radio does not work. But I do have a reasonable quote to update the guts of the radio. to a modern sound. keeping the old look).

All of the gauges work.   The sending unit for the fuel tank ('65 Mustang Tank) has been rebuilt to match the fuel gauge and works dead balls on.   These VDO gauges are a one of a kind set.   The faces are the antique white. with the black markings and needle. which was the aged look I was going for.   But the gold half moon bezels had to go.   So. I took the euro style gold bezels off. and replaced with chrome (not as easy to find as it sounds).   The speedometer is mechanical. and the less knowledgeable viewers think it is stock.   The face mounting is very unique. and the speedometer is larger than you would normally see in this setup.   If you need to remove the dash to work on anything. it is all un-pluggable (your welcome).

4" Chop

Decked hood

Shaved handles

Body Work is pretty awesome PAINT IS NOT PERFECT

The interior is extremely nice.

High floor shifter.

Full air bag system. PICTURES I HAD DO NOT SHOW THIS. BUT IT DOES LAY FRAME!!

Nova front end.

Ford 9 inch rear end.

Power Brakes (all hidden).

Power steering.

Working lake pipes (I did drill 4 hole in the back of each side. as I tried a custom baffle idea.   I was going to plasma cut some openings and tack it in there. but then I got to liking the rumble).

Frenched headlights:  The cheap ass kit comes with plastic retainer rings. so I made my own.   The rears are out of steel and powder coated. The fronts are stainless (cut by water jet) and powder coated.   The tri-bar headlights are very unique. as the tri-bar is under the smooth glass. with a smooth back reflector… very cool.

Dual Frenched Cadillac tail lights.   I know it is not super unique. but hey… it is fricken badass.   They all light up for running and braking. but just the outer ones blink for the turn signals.

The side door glass are automatic. but look like the are crank style.   The crank is the switch.

When I got this. nothing opened or closed properly.   Now the trunk closes by just letting the weight of the trunk drop it a half an inch.   The doors shut very good; I do like to be a little firm to be sure. And the hood is easy to work as well.

There is a remote to pop the driver door and the trunk; another popper can be added to the passenger door with this set up. Plus there is an “oh shit” button incase you lock your keys in.

I have done tons more work to this than I care to type… It is this simple… the car is awesome… people love it!  Everywhere you go it’s all thumbs up. photographs and very appreciated.   This car has won a trophy at every event. which I entered for judging; Piston Jammers Club Choice award at Torquefest. Club Choice award at Automotion (1000 plus cars) and many other events (some ‘50s event don’t do this).

This car is done the right way. and is greatly welcomed at all '50 - no billet type of events!

I have it insured for $40. 00 – buy it for a great price here.   Why would you mess around with a long drown out project. when you could be the “cool kid” today.
