A very special car. newly built from the chassis up. using the original MKVI chassis and mechanicals as the basis. The car is exotic and very well proportioned in design. extremely well put together. and panel work. paintwork. upholstery. hood. chrome work. etc. are all finished to a superb standard. and as a result looks fabulous. The attention to detail is impressive! It is mechanically very good as well. the slightly later R Type automatic gearbox suiting it very well. particularly the floor-mounted 'stick shift' making it easy and fun to use the 'box as a manual. should you so wish. The sporting exhaust note adds to the enjoyment. Easy and relaxing to drive if you want it to be. but more than capable of being exhilarating as well when you are in the mood. The car has a striking. stylish and early look. but with the convenience of modern performance and ease of use. Lovely!

Snippets:
Alfred Howgego (Jnr) took delivery of B265CD at Fryerning Hall. Ingatestone. The family of Howgego family were market traders and in the late 1920s actually had their own “Brass Coinage”. this was when fruit & veg were supplied in wooden boxes and the purchaser would be charge a deposit and given a token which would be exchanged upon return on the box. The Howegeo's had Caledon lorries as early as the 1910s with the name “Howgage” sign-written on the side. There are several early newspaper references (1911/29) to Alfred Howgego being fined & summoned to court. his offences included cycling without a light. leaving a car unattended & driving too fast! The barn at Fryerning Hall is dated 1289 when it was erected by the Knights Hospitallers. they had been granted the right to hold a market at Ingatestone but during the Reformation all of their properties were confiscated by the Crown & Fryerning Hall was bought by Lady Dorothy Wadham (daughter of Sir Petre of Ingatstone Hall). After the death of her husband (Sir Nicholas Wadham) Lady Dorothy used her inheritance to found Wadham College. Oxford. The second name on the chassis cards is that of Anthony Robert Klitz who. from all accounts was an accomplished musician (Jazz) and artist. He was best known for his impressionist style of urban cityscapes with his work being exhibited in London and Dublin prior to his becoming an internationally known painter.
