This 1966 Porsche 911 "Short wheel base" Completed production on May 25th 1966. Finished from the factory in Bahama Yellow (Paint code 6605) with black leatherette. This 911's first destination in life was to Klein Forman Motors in Van Nuys Ca. The original owner on record was the famous Southern California Architect John Lautner. John is likely best known for his work building and designing the late Bob Hope's home in Palm Spring's Ca. Bob's 17. 00 Sq/ft house was built in 1973 which at the time would have been the car John drove to the site. The Bob Hope residence was last listed for $35. 00. 00.

From the records we have with the car it appears that Lauthner owned the car all the way from 1966-1984 when he sold it to another California resident Dennis Quintal of Long Beach California. Dennis' stewardship was short. just three years when he traded the car to a Canadian Marine doing service in the San Diego area. Harvey Tremblay is the final custodian and ultimately the 3rd owner of this beauty.  

Harvey purchased the car in 1989 and just finally decided that at 75 years young.  a new Porsche was what the balance of his driving years deserved. Harvey decided half way through his passionate efforts to restore this little SWB 911 to pass the torch and allow the 4th caretaker to take over where he left off.  

We have the car in our facility and can't possibly explain the level of documentation and provenance we received with the vehicle. We have the original owners hand books with the original owners name in them. the original selling dealers stamp. service records early on and copies of the California State registrations all the way back until 1973! We have had the delight to make contact with the late John Lautner's family and shared some great stories they had about John's years behind the "wood dash" 911 he drove almost daily.  

The opportunity to own a 911 SWB with a wood dash and steering wheel is becoming more and more difficult. To find one with an almost perfect ownership history proving the Southern California provenance is somewhat irreplaceable. If you want to make the simple step to reassemble the engine and install it or make this your next restoration project. this is likely the best candidate on the market today. We have a completely rust free numbers matching engine documented 911 to offer.
