Technical specifications, photos and description:
MG never made a V8 B Roadster until the MG RV8 of the 90s. However many enthusiasts found they could combine the best of all worlds by fitting the V8 engine into the considerably prettier chrome bumper Roadster body. as is the case with this car.
Finished in Tartan Red. our 1970 Roadster has a black mohair hood and a grey leather interior. piped in red with a walnut dashboard and door cappings.
The body is in lovely condition outside and underneath with no corrosion. Equally the paint finish is superb throughout and the under-bonnet area very well detailed. The MGC bonnet is an original in aluminium rather than a glassfibre copy. The hood is recent and in perfect condition. The chrome parts are all superb.
Inside. the interior trim has been completely renewed at the time of its restoration. Electric windows and a modern stereo have been added. along with a beautiful Moto Lita steering wheel. The boot area is fully trimmed and is home to a six-disc CD autochanger.
The 3. 5-litre Rover V8 engine has just been completely rebuilt in Germany at a cost of thousands. As such it runs beautifully with more than enough power and perfect oil pressure. The gearbox is the more modern five-speed. rather than the antiquated four-speed plus overdrive that MG used. The suspension and brakes have been rebuilt and converted to Spax telescopic dampers and fitted with Minilite alloy wheels with new tyres.
We have a good history file with the car including bills for all recent work.
This would be great car for summer days or every day. capable of relaxed high-speed cruising that would make it perfect for a long trip.
