EXTERIOR
This beautiful Elan has spent many years safely stored when not in use. so remains a fresh original example. Other than a few expected light chips to the front. the paint is in excellent condition still retaining a perfect glossy shine. All of the rubber seals around the doors and windows have held their colour and remain supple and soft not having suffered from the usual drying-out and perishing.

The convertible hood folds easily into its compartment and remains in good condition with the exception of a small tear located on the edge near the door window. The plastic screen remains clear and free from any damage.

INTERIOR
The interior condition in this example is excellent. with no signs of wear to report. the leather on the seats and door cards are free from scuffs or damage. The red leather stripes tie in nicely with all the red gauges and instruments all of which work exactly as they should. The leather trimmed steering wheel and gear knob are well positioned and again are free from any signs of excessive wear. The original Blaupunkt tape player is still installed and working well

The boot area is immaculately turned out with no evidence of ever having to carry any luggage. The space saver spare. jack and tool kit are all stored away under the carpet.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Lifting the bonnet you are presented with an engine bay in pristine condition. The 165bhp turbo charged engine fires into life and idles correctly up to temperature and provides thrilling performance with such a lightweight frame.

The 5-speed gearbox is a joy to operate and handles the engines boost perfectly. pulling through the range with ease.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
The alloys are all perfect and free of any marks or scratches. The front wheels are shod in a set of Continental tyres and the rears with Dunlop tyres. all of which have plenty of tread remaining.

The brakes feel strong and competent. pulling the car up confidently in a straight line. The discs are free from scoring or pitting and the pads show little wear.

HISTORY FILE
The Elan was first registered in March 1991 and sold through the supplying dealer to the first owner. Mr Webb from Wokingham. The first 15 years of its life the Elan was serviced solely by the supplying dealer. Since 2007 it has been serviced by the same local independent garage. the last being carried out at 34k miles in May 2013.

In the history file there are some invoices for service work and replacement parts. as well as the original Lotus owners handbook containing 11 service stamps. The V5 document shows just 2 former keepers.
