Current customer rating: (191 votes ) based onMustang Monthly called these the rarest of the Mustangs because they were only made for a few months. Of the Mustang GT convertibles only 150 were made in 1965 with the Pony Interior. Of the 150. only 35 were four speeds. this is one of them. After climbing around under the car to photograph the underside I am very comfortable in the previous owner's claim that the car had under one hundred thousand original miles. Look at the photos of the exhaust system. it appears by all of the components and hangers to be the system installed at the factory in the spring of 1965. This is not unusual for a car that has been garaged for so much of its life. Because the car has always been in South Texas it has never seen salt so the underside is AMAZING. go look at the pictures.
This car has original drive train. original interior. (I think. the original top and back window). The body is in good shape but really should be repainted. there are parts of the car that have been repainted over the past 49 years and they are starting to show their age. The previous owner had blown a tire on the right front and it smacked the inside of the fender releasing a chunk of paint. closeups of this are in the photos This is an uncut. unmolested. good running car that would be a winner with fresh paint or drive it as it is.
The car comes with the factory spinner hubcaps and whitewalls as well as double red stripe 6. 95-14 bias plys on Mustang Styled Steel Wheels. It also comes with a bunch of spare parts including a new gas tank and new rotors.
