Up for sale. 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger 340 3 speed manual! Yes 3 on the floor. One of 955 or so made. Original FC7 plum crazy purple car with black bucket seat interior and a white tail stripe. Car also has the somewhat rare factory tach in the dash. Most seem to have bench seats as well rather than buckets. I have known this car for many years. My father dug it up back in the 90's where it was still very much in day 2 look wearing cragers. headers. and an edlebrock/holley induction setup. My father sold it to a friend around 99 or 2000 and he got it back on the road. He painted the car himself and it is very much a driver. I emphasize this is not a show car but it is one you can drive and not worry about. Some rust showing through in the lower ¼'s-rocker area. Has patches in ¼'s you can see in trunk. Trunk is solid. floors are solid. frame is good other than holes in passenger front frame rail. Pics attached. nothing scary or that cant be easily fixed. Fender tag is shown. if you can‘t read the codes or need help with them let me know. I could not find a build sheet. Interior is very much original other than the radio. front seat covers would do it wonders. Dash is cracked. Still wearing ancient sun gauges on the steering column from the 70's! Tach and oil psi work. temp quit. Car is now running original 1970 340 stick shift carb I just freshened up. still has the edlebrock intake! I have a 69 340 intake that can go with it for the reserve. Previous owner swapped out the rusted headers for some newer manifolds. He had the exhaust redone. new radiator. some of the hoses. basic tune-up stuff but as far as I know the engine has not been out since at least the 90's. I just put new heater hoses on when I did the carb. and fuel lines. The engine is NON #'S matching but is a 1-5-70 dated 340 that I think is out of another 70 Dart swinger. Transmission IS original #'s matching and still shifts good! Rear end has some noise. could be wheel bearing though. If you're like me you have spare 8 ¾ chunks ready to go! Since it's a real H code 340 swinger it also has the 4 piston caliper disc brakes and sway bar. Rallye wheels with nice 14” tires. Something else very rare and cool is the car looks to be wearing the original 1970 HP Dodge only scat pack bee's in the ¼ windows! The only cars that got them in the windows and these are the ones it left the factory with which is pretty neat. Somewhere along the way the car acquired a pit stop gas cap. Great car to restore with a good set of options for a 70 340 car or cruise as is for very fair $. Like I say it's not a show car with fancy paint but a car you can hop in and have fun with. Doesn't smoke. does drip a little oil out of rear of pan which is to be expected of an older build. Starts right up and runs nice. still has some pull for an old 340. New clutch as well. Unsure of the gearing but would guess 3. 23 from experience. 2nd gear is LOOONG in these and fun. Not many 3 speeds around and try before you judge! it's a nice change from the normal auto or 4speed. Any questions you can call/text me at 518-281-6058 or email. Please bid to own. saves us all some time. Thanks:)
