1971 Duster - 340 4 Speed

Here is a rare opportunity to own a car you will seldom come across for sale. This car is an original 340 4 speed car that came factory equipped with a 3. 91 Sure Grip 8. 75" rear end. bucket seats. and very little else. this one was built for speed!

This car is 100% numbers matching! To define this further that means that the Vehicle Identification Tag (VIN) on the dash has a sequence number that matches the engine stamping. the transmission stamping. the VIN decal on the drivers door. the fender tag. and the two body sheet metal stampings (one on the radiator core support and one on the rear package tray) and are ALL 100% factory original. guaranteed!

I have been seeking these cars out for many years. finding an all numbers matching. 340 4 speed Duster in a good color and condition for sale is next to impossible. especially a nice dry Western example.

I have owned this car for about a year and have been improving it since the day I picked it up. The young man who owned it before me made some amateur restoration mistakes. most of which I have taken care of since buying it. Below is a list of what I've done to it. bottom line is that it's a good looking driver the way it is but to be a real show stopper it will need a new paint job and some other details.

The body is very solid. the floors are dry and not pock marked. typical dry Western car. There is no rot anywhere. quarters were replaced (complete AMD's) and were plug welded on so not a hack job.  The last owner had a pro do the metal work and he assembled and painted it so the paint is 10 footer quality.  The ONLY signs of rust anywhere are shown in the pic with the keys next to it. just looks like poor paint prep at the lower front pass door corner.

Shark Tooth Grille is very nice. no old repairs and no noticeable issues. it might have a few very minor stress cracks but without removing it I don't see any.

It has manual disc brakes (factory in great shape).

Original dash pad is perfect. complete original condition Rallye instrument cluster. typical chrome evaporated away. nbsp;with a rectangular radio hole cutout.

Since buying it I've added:
