1970(H) MORRIS 1000 Series III. 2 Door. Remanufactured Engine (4. 00 miles). New  MOT/Tax.

Excellent Mechanically. Needs Cosmetic Attention to Bodywork

“Tika” (from the TKK reg. number) is one of the later Series 3 Morris 1000's with a completely “remanufactured” 1098 ccc engine (unleaded head) which has only done 4. 00 miles  and a new MOT on 19th April 2013 with free road tax just renewed till April 2014 . She is in EXCELLENT MECHANICAL CONDITION and drives well above the average. such that it can be used on a daily basis for economical motoring. Other parts which have been recently replaced include battery. clutch. radiator. exhaust. tyres (all good). headlamps etc. She starts first time. and performance is as good as you can get.

Finished in the original Snowberry White with contrasting black trim (apparently quite rare) she does require some cosmetic attention to the door bottoms and lower N/S front wing. The seats and interior are original. and only the driver's seat needs attention (split in several places- see photos). This did have a seat cover. but I removed it to show the seat does need repair. The rest of the car is all very sound. including the floors which have been recently renovated and under-sealed (top and bottom) with new carpets. I was recently quoted 500 quid to do the bodywork. but have decided to sell her “as is”. so the buyer can decide what standard  he/she requires ( or to do “DIY” job) or alternatively to leave it for the time being (not necessary for MOT).

A complete “remanfactured” 1098cc engine was fitted by Bristol Classic Motor Co in Feb. 2009. since when she has only done 4. 00 miles (annual mileages for last 5 years are recorded on the new MOT by the way so this can be verified). The guarantee certificate for the engine and the invoice is in the vehicle file (see below). The mileage on the odometer is now (1)15. 00 . but it is really irrelevant as virtually all major mechanical items have  been replaced in recent years.

All external chrome is in good condition and some items have been recently replaced. All  electrics are in good condition and everything working fine. Heater/blower  is excellent by the way!!! “Extras” include wing mirrors. steering wheel lock (2 keys). locking petrol cap (unleaded head by the way- no additive needed)  and radio/cd player with removable front. Spare set of keys and spare wheel (with good tyre)/jack/wheelbrace also all present & correct.

“Tika” comes with huge history file containing all recent invoices (including the one for the engine with a guarantee) and also a complete log book of every journey and expenditure item by one of the previous owners up to 1995. As mentioned she has new MOT done in April (showing previous mileages) and new road tax until April 2014; also the new style V5 registration document.

Although I believe my description to be accurate. inspection prior to bidding is obviously welcome and recommended. Please telephone Steve on 07890948758 or 0117 9674886 for more information and/or for appointment to inspect before the bidding ends. The car is not advertised elsewhere and will be sold to the highest bidder once the  reserve has been met. The reserve reflects the cost of the recent new engine and other recent work. Location is very convenient in Kingswood. East Bristol. close to the junction of the A420 and A 4174 (Ring Road) only a few miles from the M4 (Junction 18) or M32 (Junction 19)

Genuine bidders only please. Cash on collection or bank transfer prior to collection and the winner must contact within 24 hours of close of bidding to arrange payment and to collect.

Thanks for reading and happy bidding – someone will get a very useable and economical Morris 1000 with the potential to be a very nicely preserved classic.
