Technical specifications, photos and description:
1973 Jaguar V12 Coupe. 1S74899. Engine 7S11413LA. Gearbox KL5722. nbsp; 21. 00 miles. nbsp; matching numbers.
This car was sold new in Toronto to a Doctor. who then sold it in 1978 to another Doctor in my local Niagara area. He owned in for 36 years but averaged only 500 miles a year. He did appear for some of our Niagara British Car Club's tours. The original British Leyland Passport to Service book is stamped up to 15. 00 mile servicing.
Overall. the car is in fantastic survivor condition. needing some lack-of-use related repairs. The car runs very well. drives well.
Body: This car was painted a long time ago in original colour Light Blue. The paint now is a 10 footer; many chips. some crazing. The car was Ziebarted when new. which preserved the body. although it's hard to clean off in areas you want to shine. such as the under-bonnet.
All panels appear to be original. The bonnet is nearly perfect. The only rust is in the boot. where water had gotten in and allowed to sit for years. hidden under the spare. Floors are mint. The right trailing arm and air duct to the rear disc have a dent as if the driver hit something low on the road. The picture frame is not bent from jacking without a wood block.
Engine: Good oil pressure. no leaks on the floor. clean oil and coolant. starts well hot or cold. In 2004 at mileage 21. 00. the car underwent a big repair servicing that cost $13. 00. 00 The engine got rebuilt carbs. new belts. hoses. an American alternator was fitted. plugs. cap wires. thermostats. new coolant header tank. fuel pump. transmission mount. all new shocks. nbsp; new clutch cylinder and rebuilt slave cylinder. nbsp; and brake hoses. The original alternator and smog pump are missing.
A complete exhaust system including manifolds was installed as well.
Tires have little use but are cracked and not safe.
Interior: Overall the interior is in fantastic condition. with only the famous Jaguar drooping headliner problem. The leather's soft. without tears. All trim pieces are in perfect condition. Door cards are perfect. Boot trim is perfect. Carpets and under-lays are perfect.
Radio works but speakers are shot. Antenna is bent.
Air Conditioning works well blowing very cold air.
Chrome: overall the chrome is “good” - some pitting. but no rust. All the chrome is present and straight with the exception of the front grill which got a poke some time in its life. A good used grill is included.
Rims have some rust. The spare is better and should be moved to the car when fitting new tires.
There are some tools. The jack and bag are present.
The front suspension ball joints are good. but their rubber boots are rotten. which is a fail item for a Safety Test.
Gauges: Not working: screen washer. map light (bulb missing). clock. fuel level (the float has likely sunk). Everything else works.
Body rubber: the car needs most of the seals replaced: window. rear glass. bumper rubber etc. Front screen rubber is good. All glass is excellent. with the original ClimaGlass logos. The rear hatch glass is Triplex. The front screen is as new. New seals and rubbers included are:
Cantrail pair. front bumper to body pair. tail light to body gaskets. tail light lens gaskets. front flasher lens gaskets. heater box seal. 4 coolant hoses. V belt. boot lid seal. A post seal pair. oil and fuel filters. pair side marker rubbers. sill seal pair. front lower rad air scoop finisher.
The driver's seat belt does not retract.
No Reserve auction. I'll ship overseas if the buyer arranges everything. I could get the car to Toronto for $200.
$500 deposit required within 24 hours. by Pay Pal. or wire transfer. E Mail if you need other arrangements.
I did 5 videos of the car:
