1968 Plymouth GTX 426/425 HEMI *Original J-Coded*

For sale is my beloved 68 GTX with a 426/425hp Hemi. I have owned the car for years and enjoyed it very much as would any true Mopar fan. It is believed to be one of 450 factory Hemi GTX's with the original J-coded body plate. and also one of only 250 automatic Hemi's. It comes with all documentation including factory Certi-card. Owner's Manual. all service records with receipt's. and extra keys. The car was treated to a frame-up restoration a few years ago.   It has all completely original sheet metal and no rust problems whatsoever as seen in the pictures. The car was taken down to bare metal and painted back to the original Mist Green Metallic color using exact color matching PPG paint. The vinyl top was removed and authentic vinyl used in the replacement. The car also is a factory bucket seat with console car. It has the factory tack and gauges and all work great. The original mag wheels have also been restored to new and look great. as you can see. Engine was rebuilt by famed Mopar guru Dick Landy (for those not familiar look at http://www. dicklandy. com/about. htm). The engine has the original heads and intake along with date coded block. The original air cleaner with dual quad carbs still sit on top too. It also has the factory original 727 Tourqueflite transmission and 8 3/4 posi Dana rear with 4. 11 gears. all of which have been restored to original. The car runs and drives like it did in 68' and I made sure any parts used during the restoration were NOS. It is very important to me that the car stay 100% original to when it rolled off the assembly line and I have kept it that way. Please don't hesitate to call me with any questions you may have. my name is Rich and my number is (954) 360-5607. Thanks for looking.

Back in 1968 I worked for Chrysler Corp. in Houston Texas parts distribution center and I bought this same car from the sheriff in Jasper Texas in 1969 for $700.00 cash. To bad it got totaled out in 1972 not my fault. But a friend was lost and I have been searching for one again. I had this same car down to the color. Very fast only problem was the rear end wouldn't hole up to the 426 hemi replaced twice put since I worked there the parts were free to employees. Maybe I will get a chance to re-live my youth. I am now 71 years old. If you could send me more pictures. By what kind of fuel do you use in the car back then it had lead in the gas and was 29 cents a gallon and if your were lucky you would get 9-15 miles per gallon. Thanks for your time and send more pictures if possible.
