Feature Description:

A true street-legal “wolf in sheep's clothing” with awesome performance including the ability to lap Willow Springs Raceway's full road course at under 1:40. this 1976 Firebird Formula is smogged and road-licensed until May 2015. Repainted in its original white exterior with a lower black stripe and tri-color blue accent striping. the Firebird retains the original black interior with both seats modified and floor eye-bolts installed to accept Simpson 5-point safety harnesses. Safety is further heightened with a partial roll cage (full hoop) with kickers to the rear shock towers and horizontal bracing with eye-bolt connections for Simpson shoulder harnesses. plus an on-board fire extinguisher. In addition to a 160-mph speedometer conversion including the transmission speedometer gear. the Formula's factory installed working air conditioning has been converted to us modern-specification R134 refrigerant.

 The Formula's 1987 L98 Corvette engine was rebuilt and blueprinted. with the EFI system upgraded with a Lingenfelter SuperRam intake plenum. runners. and components. Internal components include special Keith Black 10:1 pistons. a Lingenfelter hydraulic roller cam. Crane roller rocker arms. and Crower hydraulic roller

lifters. Supporting features include a crankshaft fluid-damper. Summit cold air package. Perma-Cool dual-circuit oil cooler with Summit 16-inch radiator fan and a Summit 12- inch fan for the air-conditioning condenser. Valley Street Head Service Streetmaster aluminum cylinder heads and Hedman ceramic headers provide excellent breathing. For further efficiency the fans for the combination oil/transmission cooler. radiator and AC compressor are wired separately. A complete list of all engine components used the Formula's build is available. Backing up the engine is an Art Carr 700R4 equipped with a lock-up converter.

 Chassis and suspension mods adding to the Formula's prowess on the racetrack and the street include a set of frame-rail connectors and adjustable Koni shocks front and rear. Other excellent tweaks include a custom aluminum driveshaft. relocation of the battery to the right rear of the trunk. and installation of a close-ratio steering box. Stopping is enhanced with a set of Baer brakes including installation of a proportioning valve in the engine compartment. BF Goodrich G-Force T/A radials. measuring 245/45/R17 surround a set of custom 17x8-inch 5-spoke Camaro-style wheels painted to match the exterior color. A full set of 5 original Pontiac Rally II wheels is included with the sale of this very fast dual-purpose car in classic Firebird Formula guise.
