Technical specifications, photos and description:
There are several MGB Roadster V8 conversions for sale at the present time but why go for a conversion when you can have a very rare genuine Rover Group 3. 9 V8 roadster.
This car was totally rebuilt in 1990 by Rover in conjunction with BMH. Using a new Heritage shell and 3. 9 V8 engine the car was hand built by Mark Gamble of BMH for Rover Special Products division as a development car for their ADDER project. The brief of the project was to design and produce in limited numbers the forthcoming MG RV8.
YWU 486S was the second of four development cars to be built and was used for engineering feasibility studies including engine installation and suspension assesment. In Autumn 1991 it was taken to Scandinavia for cold climate testing and on its return to the UK was utilised for exhaust and cooling development.
I purchased this car in January 1999 with only 23000 miles on the clock. It has now covered just over 27000 miles. It is as it left Rover with original RV8 wheels and styled front. It was proffesionally repainted in 2000.
It has 11 months MOT and is taxed until October 2013. It has no known faults. is totally rust free and is a fantastic car to drive. The 3. 9 V8 gives fantastic performance and torque. This cars performance bears no resemblance to any ordinary MGB whatsoever.
Not only is it a very usable high performance car but is also a historically important vehicle. It is mentioned in many books. notably in the latest version of David Knowles 'MG V8' publication. The V8 register are very aware of this car and were here last year taking detailed photos for their forthcoming publication.
There is a large history file with the car with various documentation from Rover. This is a genuine private sale at a very realistic price. Contact me to arrange to view the car or any questions you may have about it. You will not be dissapointed. This must be the best MG V8 on the market.
