THIS CAR HAS BEEN A DENVER NATIVE SINCE NEW. ONE OWNER UNTIL ABOUT 7 YEARS AGO. I WILL ATTEMPT TO EXPLAIN WHAT'S BEEN DONE TO IT SINCE 2008 WHEN I PURCHASED IT.

ORIGINAL ENGINE/TRANSMISSION (383/AUTOMATIC) WERE REPLACED WITH A 440/AUTOMATIC OUT OF A 1977 DODGE 1-TON MOTORHOME WITH 51. 00 ACTUAL MILES.   I INSTALLED A NEW HYDRAULIC COMP CAM WITH . 5" LIFT AND ENOUGH DURATION TO ALMOST NOT HAVE ENOUGH VACUUM TO OPERATE THE VACUUM ASSIST BRAKE BOOSTER.   (BUT IT SURE SOUNDS NICE!) THE ROCKER ARMS. VALVE SPRINGS. AND PUSH RODS ARE STOCK.  I INSTALLED AN EDLEBROOK ALUM INTAKE MANIFOLD AND A COMPETITION SERIES CARTER AFB.   I FOUND A SET OF 'NEW OLD STOCK' HOOKER PRO COMP HEADERS (CORRECT FOR THE 65-66 FURY BODY). AND 'VHT' COATED THEM BEFORE INSTALLATION.   THE MOTORHOME "TORQUEFLIGHT" IS ALEADY BULLET PROOF. SHIFTS GREAT AND WORKS FINE. HOWEVER I DO HAVE AN OLD SCHOOL 'NEW OLD STOCK' B&M SHIFT KIT THAT COMES WITH THE DEAL.   IT HAS THE "OPTION" OF MAKING THE VALVE BODY A "MANUAL SHIFT" OR YOU CAN LEAVE IT 'AUTO SHIFT' WHEN INSTALLING IT.   I HAD A LOCAL DRIVE-LINE SHOP BUILD THE TUBE. AND IT LASHES UP TO A MOPAR 'SURE-GRIP' DIFF. STOCK RATIO OF ?:?? (LOW 3s I THINK)

THE ENTIRE BODY HAS BEEN "DOWN TO BARE METAL". ALL OF THE HOLES FOR CHROME AND ALUMINUM TRIM WERE WELDED SHUT. PRIMERED WITH 2 STAGE EPOXY PRIMER. BLOCKED A FEW TIMES. AND PAINTED WITH "VIPER RED" BASECOAT/CLEARCOAT.   THE BODY AND PAINTWORK ISN'T SHOW CAR QUALITY. BUT IT LOOKS "GOOD" FOR A DRIVER/HEAD TURNER.   THE ONLY EMBLEM INDICATING THE "MODEL" IS IN THE CENTER OF THE GRILL. "FURY III". AND MOST PEOPLE HAVE NO CLUE!  THE CLEAR HAS BEEN WET SANDED WITH 1000 GRIT AND HAS BEEN BUFFED A COUPLE OF TIMES. AGAIN. IT LOOKS GOOD!!. NOT PERFECT!!!

THE ONLY RUST ISSUES WERE ABOVE THE REAR WHEEL WELLS AND IN THE TRUNK. I ELECTED TO CUT OUT THE TRUNK FLOOR COMPLETE AROUND THE RAILS AND IMPORTANT STRUCTURE. THEN INSTALLED 1/8" SMOOTH ALUMINUM.   I BOUGHT A MARINE FUEL TANK THAT HOLDS APPROXIMATELY 10 GALLONS. STRAPPING IT TO THE NEW ALUMINUM FLOOR.   A STOCK GAS TANK COULD EASILY BE RE-INSTALLED. WHICH ARE EASILY OBTAINALBLE. INCLUDING STRAPS.   I ALSO RELOCATED THE BATTERY TO THE TRUNK. INSTALLED IT IN A MARINE ENCLOSURE. RUNNING THE "HEAVY WELDING CABLES" BACK UP FRONT. I CUT OUT THE RUST ABOVE THE REAR WHEEL WELLS AND WELDED IN AFTERMARKET STEEL PATCH PANELS.   THE BODY HAS MINIMAL BONDO. ONLY WHERE ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.

THE INTERIOR NEEDS NEW PAD AND CARPET OR VINYL INSTALLED.   THE SEATS ARE 6-WAY LEATHER POWER OUT OF A LATE 90s LINCOLN MARK VIII LSC. I REMOVED THE STOCK DASH CAP AS IT WAS TOAST. THE HEADLINER IS EXCELLENT. ALONG WITH THE CHROME TRIM AROUND THE GLASS.   WINDSHIELD IS NEW. SIDE GLASS AND BACK GLASS IS ORIGINAL AND "OK". AND THE DOOR GLASS NEEDS TO BE INSTALLED.   I RECOVERED THE TRIM PANELS WITH BLACK TEXTURED VINYL THAT LOOKS (IN MY OPINION) GREAT. ALL THEY NEED ARE THE SNAP BUTTON COVERS. WAS GOING TO HAVE THEM MADE AT THE INTERIOR SHOP WHEN I DID THE CARPETS. THE 1/4 VENT WINDOWS CRANK OPEN AND SHUT CORRECTLY AFTER A INTENSE OVER-HAUL.

I HAVE A NEW COMPLETE SET OF LIGHTS  (SEE PICTURES). A NEW STAINLESS STEEL SCREW KIT. THE ORIGINAL FRONT BUMBER (NEEDS TO BE RE-CHROMED). AND SEVERAL BOXES OF PARTS AND PIECES THAT CAME OFF THE CAR.

IF YOU ARE HANDY AND HAVE SOME 'OLD CAR SENSE'. A COUPLE OF WEEKENDS OF SWEAT.  AND A FEW MORE BUCKS. YOU WILL HAVE A FUN. SAFE. HEAD-TURNER THAT'S A GOOD SOLID DRIVER!
