1971 MG MGB. THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION
This is not your stock putt putt around town MG when the sun is out. This MGB can fly all day long on the highway in any weather and get good gas mileage. Just put it into overdrive and get in the fast lane. In the winter just put on the hardtop or the new soft top and the heater blows nice and hot. In the summer take the top off. The car has a roll bar and wind deflector for driving with the top off. No lead additives needed just fill up with unleaded. The head has been replaced with a $1300 big valve ported and polished unleaded head from Dave Headley at Fab-Tek. Check out his work at Fast-MG dot com. The engine has been fully rebuilt with a 40 overbore. new big end bearings. con rod bearings. new oil pump. new valve followers. new pistons and rings. The cam is slightly harsher than stock. There is a new double row timing chain and tensioner as well as new gaskets and seals all around. The car has an oil coiler with steel braided lines. The engine also has all new blue silicon hoses. The dual 1 1/2 SU HS4's have been totally rebuilt with slightly richer needles. The 4 spd with overdrive transmission transforms this car. The overdrive turns the car into a car that you can truly use as a daily driver. The overdrive has been completely gone through with all new seals. gaskets. filters. new heavy duty roller throwout bearing and new clutch slave cylinder. All the wiring and safeties on the overdrive have been gone through. A new clutch was put in at the same time. A red light has been installed on the dash to let you know when the overdrive is engaged.  This a very reliable car. No Lucas electrical problems here. Everything works even the map light and trunk light. Everything electrical has been gone through including a new ignition relay. new solid state voltage stabilizer. new starter. new alternator. new coil. new battery with cutoff switch. and new battery box. The car has also been switched over to electronic ignition so no more changing the points and condenser. The fuel pump and filters are all new as well along with new brakes front and back. To many new seals and gaskets to list including all new trunk. hood. window. and windscreen. There are new Toyo touring tires all around. Mechanically the car is good for another 100. 00 miles minimum. The speedometer could use rebuilding. The only real problems are cosmetic. No major rust anywhere just some surface rust and bubbles in the paint. The car has been repainted multiple times by previous owners and could use new paint again someday. There is also a crack in the top right corner of the windscreen. There are small dents and dings around that you would expect in a 43 year old car. Its a great little car. I just have to many cars right now and need to make some room. I will include a box full of extra parts. seals. filters. and gaskets.
