hISTORY FROM PREVIOUS OWNER: After a restoration and a V6 engine swap (same HP less weight its a 3. 8L ford so similar horsepower. less weight and dual point distributor for faster rpm's the top of the line at the time) this car sold at charity auction to previous owners.

This car had sat for close to 20 years.  I will include pics of it being pulled out of the garage etc.

Why the garage for 20? . After buying at charity auction the previous owners had in a small one car garage then they kept blowing the air pump for the doors so they had to drive into garage and crawl out the back. So it sat till forgotten. Then I picked it up brought it to my warehouse with the intent on bringing it back to Original Safety White color.

Since they had painted over everything to the red wine color this became a lost cause so I had  it sanded and acrylic sealed and since I Was painting one of my other cars in a Ferrari rosa Red we shot it in that color. Its driver quality paint job and it needs to be finish buffed.  The usually stress cracks are either there or expect them to come back. Its a bricklin after all.

After a few years in my warehouse I upgraded the air door system with new large pump in the engine compartment and an expansion tank and PSI gauge . HAS brand new BF Goodrich tires -  period correct and then sent to Steve the Wrench in Dallas to go through it as I planned to donate to a local charity - I am donating a Old Ford instead since this took too long. A few grand later I put in my garage and drove a few times. Now I need to make room for a S8. so although a ride and drive it still need several trim pieces put on. A couple of door latchs etc please feel free to ask questions.

Feel free to talk to him about the car and although I had him go through and replace everything that he felt needed replacing and have attached the list of repairs/upgrades done by him.

DISCLAIMER:::: I want to make one point VERY CLEAR Although the car rides and drives. has clear title etc. I have not driven more than around the block - Flushed the tank. put in new gas lines. new carb. rebuilt master cylinder. had AC worked on (the metal switch to to high is included but its busted I didn't want to just glue it)  and the list of things Steve has done SO lets call it a Project and sold as is where is. I say all  this because I have sold Restored to original cars and don't want you to think this is in that class. The paint is only partly buffed out.

For people shipping -  it can ride and drive on the trailer and start at a turn of the switch.

For those who want to ask can it make it to San. Fran or Boston from Dallas. I will say NO -first its not registered and  again I wouldnt drive it to far with out beating on it a bit to see if anything breaks !!

The Bricklin SV-1 was a gull-wing door sports car assembled in Saint John. New Brunswick. nbsp;Canada. The body panels were manufactured in a separate plant in Minto. New Brunswick. Manufactured from 1974 until early 1976 for the U. S.  market. the car was the creation of Malcolm Bricklin. an American millionaire who had previously founded Subaru of America. The car was designed by Herb Grasse.  Due to Bricklin's lack of experience in the auto industry. coupled with the funding problems. nbsp;the Bricklin factory was not able to produce vehicles fast enough to make a profit. As a result. only 2. 54 cars were built before the company went into receivership. owing the New Brunswick government $23 million.

·        The model name (SV-1). stood for "safety vehicle one".   The original idea for the Bricklin SV-1 was a safe and economical sports car. but due to the added weight of the safety features. the car was inefficient and simply a safe sports car.  The Bricklin was designed for safety with an integrated roll cage. 5 mph (8. 0 km/h) bumpers. and side beams.  The body was fiberglass with bonded acrylic in five "safety" colors: white. red. green. orange and suntan.  The cars had no cigarette lighter or ashtray.  Non-smoker Malcolm Bricklin believed it was unsafe to smoke and drive. The Bricklin is the only production vehicle in automotive history to have powered gull-wing doors. which open and close at the touch of a button. as standard equipment.
