Up for auction is my very nice un-restored 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. It was built at the Van Nuys plant and sold new at Till's Motors in Bellevue IA. The first owner traded it at Dan Kruse Pontiac. This is where the second owner bought it on August 10th 1982. At that time the car had 27. 16 miles on it. I purchased it from the second owner's estate last July. The car currently has just 35. 00 miles. There is a log book to account for most of the miles added by the second owner.

This is a mostly original car with only the tires. radio. battery. mufflers. upper radiator hose and the Air Conditioning compressor being changed. The A/C has been converted to R-134. The mufflers are vintage Walkers that have a lifetime warranty and were installed back in 1986. The A/C work was done back in 2008. This is when the upper radiator was changed also. The radio has been replaced with a “state of the art” (at least for 1979) Alpine in dash AM/FM Cassette player with a power booster/equalizer. It really does sound pretty good. This unit was a bolt in with no cutting or hacking required. I do not have the original radio.

The car is equipped with the 403 Oldsmobile engine and an automatic transmission. It is code 75 red with no hood bird. Most people say it is hood bird delete but this was an option that was not ordered. It has the black deluxe interior. Some other options include tilt. cruise. intermittent wipers. A/C. Power windows. T-Tops and WS6 Suspension. I have some paperwork and the build sheet.

I would describe the condition of the car as what it would look like if you could go back in time and buy it when it was a two or three year old used car. It looks incredible but there are a few little door dings etc… The driver's seat has a very small wear mark on the left side bolster. There has been some early 1980's vintage GM dealership lacquer paint work done to the bottom of the fenders and quarter panels but it is mostly original paint. This painting was for chips in the paint. not rust. There is no and has never been any rust! It has not been driven in the winter and has not even really been in the rain since 1982. It has been a toy since being purchased by the second owner. It has been stored in a heated garage forever.

I am not a dealer or broker. This is my car and it is titled in my name. The car is licensed and insured but unfortunately it is hardly driven. that is why it is being sold.

I have many photos posted at this address:

I am not really interested in any trades as I am trying to downsize but I would consider an up or down trade for an interesting Mopar. an original paint Survivor quality Black with a Red interior 1978 Trans Am or a very nice low mileage late model Corvette convertible. I have no interest in any Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Hi,
I see it is a WS6 with power windows.
Does the car have the power options:- steering, brakes, etc.
How about the door handles. They sometimes go. Are they OK ?
Thanks,
Geoff
