1985 Chrysler Fifth Avenue converted to pickup truck as of fall 2012. Stock engine and transmission have been properly maintained and are in good working order. The body modifications are all welded steel with extra reinforcements installed to maintain and to some degree increase the structural rigidity of the vehicle. The bed includes two opening compartments to provide access to the spare tire in the back and storage with a removable cooler in the front compartment. The tailgate opens to provide rear access to the bed. License plate covers the trailer hitch and trailer wiring as well as the air valve for rear air shocks. Air conditioning was converted to R134a last summer with a new compressor and new components as needed. Electronic cabin temperature control has been converted to cable actuation for reliable temperature control. All major repairs have been performed as needed to keep the vehicle in good reliable condition. The tires have good tread and do not shake or bounce but are very old. Before committing this vehicle to long highway travel it is recommended that the tires be replaced. That said. I have had no problems with this vehicle on short highway trips. The car is equipped with cruise control which is inoperable at this time. The car should pass most state inspections without any further repairs. A CD with photos of the build will be provided to assist with any questions about how the structure was reinforced. This was a rust-free car with a very minor rust spot on the right rear outer quarter panel. I thought I got that spot but apparently I should have cut it out and welded in a new piece of metal. This is a real head turner that actually has generated a significant amount of intelligent discussion. Yes it is bizarre. and I was probably crazy for building it. but it works and I am glad I did it. I have other projects I need to get done so I need to free up some money and space.

Local pickup in central Maryland. If buyer arranges transport I will be glad to assist with loading. Once payment has been made the title will be provided. For any questions or to arrange to see the car call 301-988-0298.
