EXTERIOR
This wonderfully preserved 88 Spec XR3i is finished in optional metallic Mercury Grey. (colour code Q7). Having been cherished by two owners from new the appearance is factory fresh with a uniform. blemish free sheen. Bumpers. decals and number plate etched tinted glass remain undamaged. Tiny markings commensurate with a 25 year old car will not deter the perfectionist but only prove the originality. These include minor touched in marks to the near-side wheel arches and off-side lower bumper. The supplying Ford Dealer number plates are still fitted along with the rear dealer window sticker. Under the bonnet is a delight with all identification plates and stickers intact and even Ford labels on the cables!

INTERIOR
Having covered such low mileage the Daytona patterned seat fabric. (code SF). is utterly pristine. Ford perfections will marvel in the factory fresh ambience of this interior which still retains a characteristic and distinctive Ford aroma. The colour-keyed cut pile carpet is unmarked and the unique Cool Black XR3i headlining is clean and tight. The moulded door trim panels including the soft-feel armrests and stowage bins are perfect but there is a mark on the upper driver door shut caused by the seat belt buckle becoming caught on one occasion. All interior instrumentation. switch gear and ventilation operate correctly. The supplying dealer tax disc holder is still affixed to the front screen. The boot area is spotlessly clean with the floor revealing the factory stickers. 1980's Ford perfection.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Standard in every respect and a purists dream. this 1. 6 litre engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection has been meticulously maintained developing a crisp. responsive 104bhp and excellent fuel economy. Genuine ford service consumables are clearly visible under the clean bonnet such as a Motocraft oil filter. A top speed of 115mph and 0-60mph in 9. 6 seconds feels spirited thanks to a kerb weight of just 945kg. The 5-speed transmission is light. precise and a joy to use.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
Pristine and optional alloy wheels are shod in brand new matching Pirelli P600 185/60 R14 tyres. The spare wheel retains the original Dunlop tyre but has two areas of lacquer lift. The diagonally-split dual-line servo assisted brakes with front discs and self-adjusting rear drums stop the car quickly and safely.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by Ford Main Dealers. Kirbys (Wrexham) Ltd on the 30th November 1989 this 88 Spec XR3i has had just one previous keeper. The new vehicle invoice in the history file reveals a total price of £9. 86. 89 being paid for at this time. Being a fastidious owner the Ford Extra Cover Warranty plan was also purchased. In the first owners care for 23 years and being maintained religiously by him during this time. the car has been constantly garaged from new and used only as a weekend holiday car. The second owner is a Ford enthusiast. member of the XR Owners Club and keeper of some sought after concours winning Ford cars. This example has enjoyed shows and classic car events with wonderful photos of the car including one at the Ford Heritage Museum in Dagenham where the car featured in the club magazine. Correspondence between the two owners makes this a fully traceable example for the next owner to enjoy and cherish.

All handbooks. service books and manuals are contained in the clear A5 Ford folder. A full set of manufacturer supplied keys on dealer key fobs including number tags are present.
