426 Max Wedge

OK. one last time and I am done.   I have relisted this screaming deal as I must sell this for his father.  ----Belvedere 2 dr. post sedan.   This is an original Florida garage kept car.   This is where my friend found it I think in 1994 or 95'.   It is original paint / interior / never wrecked or rusted body.   This survivor was a 318 V-8 automatic. manual drum brakes and steering.   Optional 3 spd automatic tranny.   It has since been repainted back in 99" after I  finished building it in 1997 into a nostalgia Max Wedge clone.   I am selling this car that I built for him now at the request of his father as he is on his last legs in life.   So don't fuck with me on this.   He has been wheelchair bound for the last 40 years due to a plane crash at age  19.   He has been ill for the last 4 years and I have driven it on and off to keep it breathing maybe a total of 20 miles in this time.   Car has 102. 00 original miles.   I will best describe the car as my memory allows.   Last time he drove the car himself. street driven only and never made it to the track. he pulled the front wheels about 6" on so on the street!!!!  By the way you can fit 10 people in the trunk!!!

Engine; Real deal 1964 426 Max Wedge engine all date coded block / heads/ intake. nbsp;that was bought complete carbs to pan from a mutual friend of ours in Tennessee.   This engine was pulled with low miles. like no miles and hid away. from an early 1964 race car Chrysler delivered to him in late 1963 way back when to race in super stock.   How cool!!!!  Anyway it was never touched until we got it and it mich'ed out std. bore. std. / std. crank perfect.   Engine had original forged super high compression 12-1 pistons. nbsp;I replaced with speed pro 10 or 10. 5 pistons installed and internally balanced with cloyes true roller. purple shaft hyd. flat tappet either . 509 or the max version . 520 lift.  The cam sounds killer and runs really well in this engine combo.    Better springs of course. rings. bearings.   Engine is virgin as I remember.   Don't ask about carbs. manifolds. oil pan. as the original date coded crap I think he sold some time ago as I don't see it around.   Has Milodon 8 qrt external pickup pan with indy billet pump and external Earls large oil cooler for street use.   Carbs are carter super comp.  edelbrock 750 cfm 1405's I think.   Chrysler aluminum water pump housing and performance high flow aluminum water pump.   All March aluminum pulleys.

Ignition;; is MSD pro billet. 6AL w/ 7K chip. blaster II coil. New Chrysler mini 100 plus amp mini alternator and mini light weight Mitsubishi starter.   Low idle charging lock out regulator (little blue box on pass. fire wall)

Exhaust;;;3" mandrel bent Tube Technologies out the back with welded flowmasters and dragstrip Y-pipe on the collectors w/ drag open collector cut outs.

Tranny;;J. W. 727 Torqueflight w/ reverse pattern manual valve body. trans brake.  3500 stall converter and huge Earls street stand alone oil cooler.   Fairbanks deep finned aluminum oil pan.

Radiator;;Bee Cool tree row welded aluminum huge core radiator. fabbed aluminum shroud. Moroso catch can and flex fan.

Roll Cage;;Mild steel chassis works 6 pt cge with removable side bars for street use.   Car was legal built to 97 rules NHRA. nostalgia class

Drive line;;Mark Williams 4" aluminum drive shaft w/ billet yokes front / back.   Moroso or chassis works front / rear drive shaft loops.

Rear axle;;Chrysler 8. 75" with 4:56 gears and factory sure grip . 489 housing with 1-7/8" pinion.   I think we put Moser or Mark Williams axles with Greene bearings and 3" Moroso studs frt / rear.   New Chrysler super stock Big block B-body automatic springs. super stock spring relocation kit to bring springs inline with frame rails for max tire clearance and spring launch adjustment.   90/10 front shocks and 50/50 rear.  

Front end;;completely removed. cleaned / painted rebuilt with all MOOG steering / suspension components and polyurethane bushings where possible. manual box resealed and re-packed.

Tires / wheels;;Mickey Thompson front runners28x7. 5x15 and 29. 5x10. 5x15 rear.   Wheels American nostalgia Torque Thrusts 5" frt / 10" rear

Battery;;;relocation kit. . welding cable to frontexternal battery cut-off

Fuel;;New gas tank and fuel gauge. Moroso sump kit 8 AN lines and fittings all earls / Russell braided steel lines throughout front to rear Teflon lined.   Mallory 250 series billet pump and billet regulator dual outlet for multi carb.

Interior;;original stock. front seats out of my 69 satellite convertible with correct  NOS super stock seat brackets. Autometer 5" pro tachometer with tattle tail and shift light adjustment. 3" mechanical engine gauge cluster chrome oil pres. . volts. water temp.   RCI 3" drivers full seat belt harness.   HAND CONTROLS FATHER WANTS ME TO REMOVE BEFORE SALE. not included

Body;;hood fiberglass and front / rear bumper.   Fiberglass NOS version I think of Max Wedge hood scoop.   Hood is lift off style with D-Zus fasteners

It seems there were 77 watchers last time and at least 10% were tire kickers as they bid on it.   To cut out the bull shitters. I relisted it with no reserve as I know out of the 77 watchers at least 10% of you have the petty cash to steal this car.  Believe me. if I had the extra money you would never see this offered for sale because even at B. J. auctions. this is even a more killer deal than would be found there I think at least 10K less than you would pay there minimum.    Bring a set of large u-joint 3;23 gears and chuck the slicks and 4;56 in the trunk and drive it home!!!!  The engine may actually be broken in by the time you get home as it is all new except for the ancient body.

Please note this is still a street car you can take to the track and thrash and drive home.

Car is tagged and street legal with all factory original equipment still installed and working!!!!  This car has never made it to the track as he did not have the time after I built it and soon after was not able due to health reasons.   It has only been street driven as described if that far !!!!!!!!!!!
