About 6 months ago a friend at a Chevy store here in Chas called me about this car. I called the fella who had it sitting in his garage since restoration. He acquired the car after walking past it in a customers house he was doing some work for (he was a home builder) he said hey whats that and the guy explained he had it for many many years as the original owner and never got around to doing much with it over the years but drove it here or there occasionally. He traded the car for the work being done and that was that. The gentlemen I purchased the car from actually had no real interest in cars but thought it would look good when gone completely throughout. He had only driven the car a few times in 10 years after restoration. paint and body was done in Chas and the motor was gone through by a technician at the Chevy store here in town. He continued to crank it regularly but didnt think it was practical because it didnt have a cupholder. That is pretty much how our conversation went and i wrote him a check and brought the car to my dealerships warehouse to get started.         I tinkered on the carb and put fresh fuel in it and it cranked right up. Didnt even smoke. I spent quite a few days understanding what i had and when I was complete I realized this is was pretty much a NEW car. He said he had spent quite a bit of money on the car but he didnt know exactly what was done. His words to me were (I told them to make it right within reason and don t make me go broke in the process) What I found was the dash. seats. door panels. carpet. convert top. convert motor. all wiring. instrument cluster. most chrome. windshield. fenders. quarter panels. most interior trim. seat belt and holders. most front end parts. fender liners. front grill and lights and sure many other items where New. I found very little evidence of rust in the past and no body filler in the doors or jambs. I think the trunk and hood are new as well but i couldnt be sure. He didnt have any receipts for me. He had just moved and said if he came across them he would call me.           When I got the car I put on new shocks. starter. Tires. factory emblems. battery and voltage regulator. I Had the driveshaft removed and balanced as well as new u joints installed. new wheel well trim pieces as well as a Bluetooth type half size deck installed in the glove box. Vehicle still has Pontiac style deck in the radio slot. This car has heat. power steering. and power brakes. Car drives very well and does not wander at all. This car has drum brakes all of the way around and they actually stop very easily and predictable. The car has recently gone to Bouchillon Performance here in Chas for an inspection. His words were ( If i wanted a Firebird this is how i would like one to be) They do classic repair and restoration.   I have a copy of the receipt for those who want a copy!  Motor is a 326 4 barrel and the transmission is a 2 speed power glide. vehicle has drum brakes all the way around. all blinkers and lights works as they should. (even the hazards). I paid a fair amount of money for this car and then went throughout the very well and feel confident to drive it anywhere. I have let the car sit and idle for at least an hour checking for leaks and seeing how well the cooling system holds up and it has been very reliable in that respect. Miles were sold to me as actual 73. 00 and car is supposed to be a matching numbers car with the exception of the motor which was replaced in late 67 under warranty.    I have driven this car about a hundred miles and found that it doesn't need anything to be enjoyed right now !          This is virtually a new car in close to new condition inside and out that has never been offered for sale!  I am pricing this car very fair for someone who as always wanted one of these or a nice classic similar to this but the car was not as they nice as they wanted. or the one they wanted was out of their price range. The new owner can hop in this car and drive off knowing that a car guy like me put alot of love and time into bringing one of these back for daily use if need be.          I am very particular about everything I sell. collector type or not so please know that car is correctly described as I am happy with the great feedback I have received over the years.  and want to continue to recieve it in the future.              I have collector car banks if financing is a route you may want to use. Please go to SOUTHERNMOTORCOSC. COM for many more photos of this vehicle. Thanks for reading and please feel free to call anytime on my cell 1 843 568 0547 Chris    I have shippers that move my collector and mainstream cars for my dealership that I can call if you need a shipping quote. please just email your zipcode. please specify outside or enclosed shipping. i would use enclosed because of the quality and condition of this vehicle.

I have had a few questions about things I didn't mention. The paintjob is the correct color code and it is a basecoat clear job. paint is a high end job nothing inexpensive about it. heck ! its been 10 years and it doesnt show any signs of its age. the carburetor is a carter afb for the pontiac. the car is very quiet under the hood. no mods at all. Car runs near perfect and when motor was gone through new seats where installed so car could run on pump 93 without lead additives. the exhaust is also new and exhaust points down at the rear as it should. all new front parts where installed when car was restored. control arms . ball joint. tie rods power steering etc. as well as new wheel wells. pretty much what I have found is most parts from Classic Industries for Firebird that could replaced have been. this car was not a rusty car from the beginning and if it was they wouldn't have put this much effort into it. even all the rubber is new . I have the rear cover for when the top is down as well as tons of parts still in the package that comes with car. Chris.

I have had tons of questions about this car since i put it on last night. I have found that
the engine block casting # is 9786339 which is a correct 1967  326   250/285
motor but the heads are off of a 1966   326   250/285  code number 094 which i have found still could have
been used as a warranty replacement and intake is correct for the year. Just thought some folks would care.

Answer to other questions:  This car does not have any rust on the body nor anything to speak of underneath.   Parts where new ten years ago and installation and paint quality is outstanding.   A magnet will stick to every bit a red paint on this car.   Except the wing I think it fiberglass.

Yes the convertible top is power. works great. push toggle forward and latch it at the windshield.

All brakes and brakes lines are in like new condition.

Floorboards have not needed to be replaced. they are fine. trunk is very clean and presents well.   I do have the spare. it was at the paint shop getting reshot. all tire change tools have been cleaned sanded and resprayed and cleared for a nice clean trunk. trunk pad is also new at restoration.

Yes wipers work!. all new system with wiring it seems.

Two sets of keys that work like they should in the doors and trunk.

Vehicle has new wiring harness' and fuse panels runniong throughout the car.

Bluetooth half size deck refers to.   Its a radio /bluetooth for your phone/ and transmits info from your phones playlist or pandora type applications. also has usb and i-pod connections. it is hidden in the glove box and it half of the size of a traditional radio. factory style deck is still in the dash for originality. Continues to have one speaker in the dash in the factory spot. its a newer speaker with better than 1967 sound quality.
