MGB V8 Roadster JBH 223G.  First Reg 1969 and zero tax rated.  This MGB roadster was built about 18 years ago by the Tamar Valley MG Centre (as it was originally called) by Alan Davis & Colin Bird. They used a heritage shell and the V8 conversions we called TAMARAC.  The car belonged to the late Peter Moores a well-known MG enthusiast who used it to tow his two early MGs. a J2 and KN to events. I am the second owner since then.

This is a very tidy example.   It's has the 3. 5 litre Rover V8 is coupled to a 5 speed gearbox.   Oil pressure is a very satisfactory 30 psi. As the Americans would say it is a strong engine and performs well uses no oil nor loses water.   The car has a very comfortable feel when driven. It sits on the road beautifully and the steering is very positive having been fitted with EZ power steering kit. (Fantastic improvement. )  It has the feel of a well-fettled car.  The engine is tidy but not concours. (I have a pair of new cam covers at hand should they be required. ) The car was Waxoyled when converted and fitted with a tow hitch. Since My ownership the car has had:

New windscreen… New V8 brake pads… Part respray

New Alpine CDE-134BT radio with CD USB and iphone & Bluetooth interface.

Rear Parking sensors… ‘Cigar Lighter' 12V socket

New Wooden Mota Lita Steering Wheel… New sealed beam headlamps

72 spoke Chrome Wire Wheels. (Earlier knock-on Minilites are available. )… Excellent tyres hardly worn

On the downside the hood is the early original fold away type and there is a small tear on the right hand side by the front rail.   Hood remain effective but I did not get round to replacing it.   Tonneau is effective and satisfactory. There is a strange burn mark on the carpet just ahead of the gear lever. covered satisfactorily by a small rubber mat. An ammeter was fitted but unconnected and the speedometer needs calibrating.

It is a splendid car and rather than continue with developing to a very high standard. age is reluctantly prompting me to pass on this work to a younger enthusiast.
