With spring in the air. summer is only around the corner. and what better way to enjoy the great British summer (no matter how short it is!) Than from the driving seat of my lovely red 1978 Karmann Beetle Convertible. This car is in fantastic shape. if you're going to be fastidious. it's not perfect. but it's way better than most! It is a California import therefore it is a very solid car. the bodywork is good straight and rust free. It's the same story underneath. the hood and windows go up and down as they should. It even has an air conditioning unit under the bonnet. although it needs recharging and servicing. which i've never bothered to do as when it's warm. i drop the roof down! The interior is in good shape with leather seats etc. It's 1600cc engine runs good and strong. and burns no oil. The brakes have all been replaced within the last year. therefore they all work as they should too! It even has some rather splendid Riviera period alloys. with thin whitewall tyres which i think suit the car well. It has six months tax on it. and it is MOTd until October. Please do remember that this is not a brand new car. or an immaculate concours restoration. This is a 36 year old Volkswagen Beetle. it's wonderful to drive it is a great little car to own. and it has a lot of character!
