1958 Oldsmobile Rocket Super 88.   AVAILABLE END OF OCTOBER.

Due to wedding commitments. this car will NOT be available until late October 2014.

I am selling my long owned (14years!) '58 Olds because due to her popularity as a wedding car. I do not have time for my other projects.   ('59 Chevy Biscayne. due for sale soon. 1949 Plymouth Convertible. a keeper!)

She has a sticker in the windscreen from Guantanamo Bay. Cuba. from 1959. when she was shipped back out to the States.   From there. in 1990. she was imported into the UK. I bought her in 2000 and completely restored her. (Many photos!)

BAD BITS.    There is no spare wheel or tyre.

   There is SLIGHT bubbling to some of the panels. but NOT cancerous.

  Although fitted with new door rubbers when first restored. they are getting a bit tired now. but don't need replacement yet.

  The fuel gauge doesn't work.   Goes straight up to full when you turn on the ignition. full or not!

  Some pitting to the front centre bumper. but polishes up well. with a little peeling to the chrome on the bumper ends.   You have to look close. tho!

  A few other niggly bits I cant remember about. but they don't detract from her overall condition.   She is 56 years old. after all!

Good bits.      NEW 14” wide whitewalls.

  New front shoes and recent rears.

  Stainless exhaust. (Mild steel mufflers. as the stainless ones were too noisy!)

  Silicone brake fluid because she stands more than is driven.

  4 barrel Holley fitted about 5000 miles back. Alloy inlet manifold.

  Lovely black and white interior in top quality carpet and vinyl. Easy to keep clean.

  HUGE history file of parts bought and work done.

  Floorpans and sills are all still solid.   Any inspection welcomed.

  LOTS of spare chrome. stainless and electrical bits to go with the car. Front and rear bumpers. side trim. good wiring loom. etc. I WILL NOT SPLIT THE SPARES FROM THE CAR. EVERYTHING TO GO AS ONE LOT. Unfortunately. no panels.

The engine is a 5. 9 Lt  Plymouth Duster 360 with a 727 Torqueflite box. These were already fitted to the car when I got her. and have been totally reliable. Mallory Electronic distributor fitted. She has been maintained regardless of cost during my time. and has never let me down.   She is used for weddings. after all!!!
