THIS VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD BY ME ITS CURRENT OWNER ED NUNEZ ON MY EBAY ACCOUNT.   I HAVE ENLISTED THE HELP OF A GOOD FRIEND WHO IS VERY INTIMATE WITH THE CAR TO PREPARE THE AUCTION LISTING AND ACT AS MY AGENT IN HANDELING THE DETAILS OF THE SALE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST. Ed N.     Greetings: This is Hurst/Olds #510 as listed in the Hurst/Olds Registry.   It was one of the 42 cars slated for Southern California and was sold New in Whittier California on 6/10/1969.   Built only one month before. This Hurst/Olds has remained in Sothern California its whole life.   This car has always been well respected by it's owners and is a car that has never been raced. abused or mistreated or abandoned in any way.   With just about 80. 00 miles it runs and drives as if it were new.   When Ed purchased this car it had about 65000 miles and he knew he had found a Jewel when he started it for the first time. Deciding on the type of restoration was going to be a challenge since the car ran and drove so nice and there were no squeaks or rattles coming from anywhere.   In fact the body was in great shape but over the years the paint was getting a little dull and the Gold Stripes had started to fade in some areas.   So with all this in mind Ed decided to get some consultation from the experts.      One such expert was Oldsmobile Guru and Sothern California legend Joe Mondello.   In the interest of preserving the factory blueprint and on Joe's advice a through internal inspection of the motor was done by performing Leak Down Tests and by removing the Oil Pan and Intake Manifold to inspect vital parts.  With all engine components in great shape it was now really obvious that this car was well cared for and that it would now be possible to keep the engine intact with the Factory Balance and Blueprint that it left the factory with.   The only items that have been replaced in the block and was done for safety sake is the Oil Pump. Timing Chain and Gears as well as the Pushrods and Lifters.     The Special Coded  "OH" Tubro-Hydramatic was in great shape and underwent a complete rebuild as well as the rearend . driveshaft and all related components.   The suspension. steering and all other wearable components were also rebuilt.   If you have any questions about what was done or the procedure please ask.   So with all of this good information at hand it was decided to do a Focused Detail Restoration on this car to preserve the factory integrity that it has so well retained over all of these years.   This type restoration involves taking each component or area separately and preforming the necessary tasks to renew the item without interfering with other components.   Some people would equate this with a Ground Up Restoration but it is much more specific and focused to bring the car to its top level.   When you have a car of this caliber and in such great unmolested condition its it is not recommended to do anything where the whole car is needlessly dis-assembled. While there are a lot of good restoration shops out there and a lot of cars that really need to be frame off restored because they are so beat up or rotted out.   You will also never know the true condition of those cars once they are finished.     I think what it really comes down to is that You want a Car that was Built by Oldsmobile at its own Plant and not in some shop in the back of a strip mall.   As you can see this 1969 Hurst/Olds is Gorgeous and it is a Substantial Award and Trophy winner at shows and events and has pulled down over a fifty such awards since it was completed.   A couple to mention are the Prestige's Jay Leno Award. The Hurst Award as well as Best Muscle Car and Best of Show at Numerous events.   Now in Southern California that is no small feat  since there is some fierce competition here.     This  H/O has also been the subject of Magazine Articles and Features including Muscle Car Books and Calendars. This exact car is currently the Featured Car on the Automotive Resource Website  "My California Car"   www. mycaliforniacar. com   in that article you can read how Fate and Destiny stepped in after many years to allow Ed to buy this car which He had known about in the very early eighties.   Also There is a Portfollio on the car with many detailed photos of the car and documetion.   That can be viewed here  "Hurst/Olds #510"  http://gps440. wix. com/hurst-olds-510.   This exterior on this Hurst/Olds was finished in DuPont Chroma Premier in Cameo White with Firefrost Gold Stripes and hand pinstriped as original.   This work was done to perfection by Noted Paint and Body Man Jon Vercoutere All trim and Bright was removed and polished to high detail and the Bumpers were Triple Chrome plated.   The underside of the car was left in a natural state and was never undercoated.   With intense cleaning and replacement of all the body mount bushings the car apears as it did when it left the factory.   It was decided not to paint or spray the underbody and you can see that this car has never had any kind of rust or rust repair.   Cars in Southern California that are taken care of usually do not have these kind of problems because they rarely ever see even a wet street let alone any other kind of adverse weather conditions.   The auction will run for five days ending Sunday at 5PM PDT 8PM Eastern.   Thankyou for viewing and please contact us if you have any additional questions.
