Porsche : 911 Base

This is a very nice classic 1966 Porsche 911.   This car was bought in Montreal. Canada but was always stored in a heated garage and has not seen one winter in its lifetime.   It is a Canadian version with speedometer in kilometers.   Numbers are matching. checked with Porsche North America. chassis number 303 890. engine number 907 082 and transmission number 229013.  Please see the COA from Porsche North America in my pictures.

I have owned this car for 14 years.

This car does not appear to show any rust in its present condition.   Nine years ago. the exterior of the car. floor pan under the car and the trunk were stripped to metal and repainted.  The Fuchs wheels were stripped. repainted and polished; and at the same time all chrome parts were rechromed.   If you want access to near-perfect panels. well. this is the car for you!  The current paint color. silver. is not the original.    The original color was sand beige. number 6607.  When the paint job was done. the owner of the body shop was impressed by the condition of all the panels of this car.

The engine was overhauled 24 500 km ago and runs like new.   It has now 66 500 km on the odometer.  New Mahle pistons and cylinders were installed. new tensioners. new seals. etc.  The heads were rebuilt with new valve guides and valves and ground to specs by a renowned machine shop from Quebec. Canada.   The 40 IDA Weber carburettors were rebuilt and calibrated to specs.   A new clutch and flywheel were installed.   Plus. a Crane Fireball points to electronic ignition conversion kit was installed.   The alternator was rebuilt at that time too.   The car runs strong and idles very smoothly.

I use to run the car around 1500 km per year. summer only.   The car was recently verified by my mechanic. a very well known Porsche specialist in Montreal.

The  interior is in good condition.   The carpet is in good shape and properly installed. although I do not believe it is the “correct” early 911 material.  The steering wheel is a Momo.   I do not have the original steering wheel. or the original spare wheel.

As you can see from the pictures. I have the original seats. Webaso gasoline heater. lights and fog lights (not installed).   I will include all these items as part of the sale.   The lights and fog lights were dissembled and sent to rechrome. and have not been reinstalled.   Rather. nbsp; I had a pair of non OEM lights that I temporarily installed on the car.   I also temporarily installed 944 seats in the car.  All these parts will be included in the sale.
