1976 Lincoln continental Mark IV  2 Door Hardtop.

460Cu. in (7500cc) Showing 83. 505 miles. with some history. I also have the hand-book for the radio etc.

Imported from Arizona in 2003. I took the car in a couple of weeks ago but had to have a reality check with three Dodge chargers already on the drive-way

The only reason I was really interested in the car was its outstanding condition

Body:-

Bear in mind that the car was built in 1976 but the only real issue I can see is a tiny bit of bubbling around the corners of the rear window. There are no holes and bubbles could be easily and quickly dealt with. In exactly the same place the vinyl has moved up slightly away from the same area (see photo). The rest of the car is near perfect. there is the odd tiny bit of lacquer on a door corner or small car park dent which are so small that they are impossible to photograph. There is also a piece of plastic that expands the gap between the body and the rear bumper. I'm not sure if this should be painted or not? At the moment it is painted and has a crazed effect because it is plastic? Again. this is no big deal but I thought it worth mentioning

Interior:-

Really nice. with no rips or tears. The dash board has a crack in the normal place and so also the plastic around the window switches on both door cards. Apart from the silver going a bit clear or slightly tarnished around the instrument binnacles it's near perfect. The car still has its 8 track and CB fitted. it was working but stopped. I will have a quick look before the auction ends (maybe just a fuse) so please email me before bidding to see if I fixed it or not. if it concerns you that is?. The electric windows work but need a little bit of a hand. probably just years of old grease and dirt that needs cleaning out.

Mechanicals:-

Well what can I say? The engine fires right up first time and just purrs. The engine is remarkable quiet and refined. Gearbox is lovely and smooth and the car drives an absolute dream. It's like driving a massive favourite comfy slipper down the road. the world switches off and you glide to where you are going.

Overall:-

The car is MOTed until 21st August 2014. It is not taxed

The photos really do not do the car justice. I do challenge you to find a better example of a car that no one would dare or dream of making today. It is a lovely near perfect moment in history. I will start the auction at the price I'm happy to except for the car. so when you are bidding you are bidding to own the car. There will be no ‘buy it now' price. please just bid to win.
