MGB ROADSTER 1971 RED

For sale is my chrome bumper MGB Roadster.

It was manufactured in 1971 and exported to sunny. hot and dry California where it spent most of its life resulting in a bodyshell that has never needed any structural repairs and it still doesn't. Because of this the panel gaps are perfect and the doors. boot and bonnet close as they did when it left the factory. The hood is also in very good condition and comes with a rear stowage cover for when it's down. The car has always been kept garaged and NEVER goes out in anything but dry weather.

It had a complete unleaded engine and new clutch fitted approximately 6. 00 miles ago by the previous owner which I have kept serviced and maintained in the time I have owned it. It's got a full years MOT on it and the road tax is free.

It has a 123 electronic distributor. sports coil and leads fitted to it and the only other modifications are SU HIF carbs. anti run on valve. electric screen wash and CD player.

The paintwork has started to bubble in a few places. nbsp;like around the lights on the front wings which would need looking at eventually but. if looked after. not for a while. It has had a walnut effect dash fitted in the past which is now cracked beyond repair so would replacing but the actual dash pad is fine. There's also a glass repair on the passenger side of the windscreen carried out by the previous owner which has never grew or changed shape  in the seven years I've owned it.

It comes with a folder containing all the old MOT's from 1998 and receipts for thousands of pounds that have been spent on it in the past. The insurance policy has an agreed value of £9. 00.

That's 1. 39 miles in seven years so I think it's time for it to go to a new home so it can be used and appreciated more and I can use the money to fund a new purchase. The one I fancy is a Triumph Stag so I would be interested in a part ex or swap with a suitable vehicle but no other makes or models so don't ask.

In conclusion it's a very nice. but not perfect car with potentially years ahead of and is ready to drive away for the summer. The original solid shell and replacement engine makes it ideal for someone who wants a car ready to use who can then sort out the minor repairs which do not impair the cars usage at their leisure. instead of buying something that needs new sill and floorpans welding in etc. The reserve price is also set at half the insurance value.
